"New York’s attorney general dissolves the president’s personal piggy bank, but a lawsuit against the faux charity alleging fraud continues.

The Trump Foundation, a tiny New York outfit masquerading as a philanthropy but operating, essentially, as a personal piggy bank for the president of the United States, is no more.
    ...
Barbara Underwood, the New York state attorney general, announced on Tuesday that her office and the foundation signed a stipulation agreeing to dissolve Donald Trump’s long-standing but chronically underfunded gesture toward charitable giving. Trump launched his foundation in 1988 as a vehicle, he claimed, for distributing profits from his bestseller “The Art of the Deal” to needy causes, but the foundation was housed at his company, the Trump Organization, and had no dedicated staff or office space.

“Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation — including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more,” Underwood noted. “This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests.”

While the Trump Foundation evaporates, Underwood’s office said, the attorney general’s lawsuit against the organization will proceed. The lawsuit seeks millions in restitution and penalties and a bar on Trump and his three eldest children — Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, who all served on the foundation’s board — from serving on the boards of other New York charities.
    ...
Underwood’s lawsuit is a stark reminder of how flagrantly illicit the Trump Foundation has been. It alleges “a pattern of persistent illegal conduct, occurring over more than a decade, that includes extensive unlawful political coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing transactions to benefit Mr. Trump’s personal and business interests, and violations of basic legal obligations for non-profit foundations.”

Underwood has referred her case to the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Election Commission in case either of those agencies are interested in identifying whether the Trump Foundation violated any federal laws.

Perhaps Bloomberg should have taken a pass on this article.

Former Bloomberg Executives to Be Charged in Construction Fraud Scheme

More than 18 months ago, the Manhattan district attorney’s office opened yet another investigation into fraud in the city’s $62 billion construction industry, this one involving Bloomberg L.P., the financial information and media company owned by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is considering running for president in 2020.

On Tuesday, the district attorney and the State Police are expected to arrest more than a dozen executives, including senior executives in New York of Bloomberg’s global construction and facilities department, on fraud, theft and bribery charges, according to one executive briefed on the investigation and defense attorneys.

Everything associated with the Bloomberg company and Bloomberg himself in New York always had the taint of corruption. I was wondering when something big like this was going to impact the Bloomberg "family" of companies. I also wonder if this rolls into something bigger or simply stops at their construction and facilities group.

I wonder how he would do vs a state version of an emoulents clause suit.
I wonder how he would do if the FBI started asking his cabinet members about contacts and collusion with sketchy characters?

I’ll summarize the thread for you since you didn’t bother to read anything:

OP posts an editorial from Bloomberg news.

Some con looks for an article that includes the words “Bloomberg” and “fraud”

GWB reacts and posts without reading the actual article.

    Other cons follow like lemmings.

The investigation is about rogue employees bilking Bloomberg LP for millions by taking bribes on office work done at their NY building.
