I disagree 100% That movie was funny then and would be funny now. Mel Brooks best skill was satire and tackling such issues in a funny way.
There is an entire list of successful movies that would not be made in our politically correct era lest is offend the snowflakes.

It is the same answer, yes. Hollywood has no problem with satire and poking fun at serious subjects. Mel Brooks movies are timeless in many ways and the statement that it would not be made by Mel Brooks I think is not true. I wonder why he feels that way.
