Not an April Fools Day joke. <p><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l9R-cQ_A_6w&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l9R-cQ_A_6w&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></p>
My humor style is also very deadpan, and people who don't know me well often miss the joke. But his delivery was poor. You pause, you stick your tongue in your cheek, you give the listener something to clue in on. By the way, why did you include a racial category in your title?
Rep. Hank Johnson is a very sick man suffering from Hepatitis C for a least 12 years. While a very comical and absurd statement I would venture to guess it's probably is due to certain drugs used to combat his Hep C. For instance Gabapentin when used "off label," and over the long tern can cause a great amount confusion in some of its consumers. The man deserves pity and care and convalescence somewhere other than the United State Congress.
Why make wild guesses about why he said something so stupid instead of just going with the obvious? The man is dumber than a sack of hammers.
I take it for granted that Georgia could have found one intelligent person for the office, and put them there. Thus, it stands to reason that there is probably something else at work here. It's the same kind of benefit of the doubt we give our own friends and family when they're drunk, drugged, tired, old, etc. And what about your use of the racial category? I'm still waiting to hear your reason for including that.
Since the man belongs to the congressional black caucus, I wouldn't think he would have a problem being identified as black, would he?
He might belong to a senior's org too, so why not refer to his white hair? What's the significance of picking one trivial attribute over another?
Those aren't mutually exclusive. The man may be "dumber than a sack of hammers." But it is a fact that he is a very ill man with a terribly diseased liver that requires many very powerful drugs for treatment. Some of those drugs have side effects which impair cognitive ability.
Look at the bright side, at least the Admiral wasn't telling Congress Guam was going to tip over. There's hope. On the flip side, paulson told Congress our financial boat was going to tip over and voila, free bags of money.
I've been to Guam. While it is beautiful the Male Guamanians literally hate Americans. It wouldn't bother me if it did tip over and capsize with all hands aboard.
