Billionaire Returns to High-Tax New Jersey to Face $120 Million Tab (Bloomberg) Billionaire David Tepper has returned to New Jersey — a move that may cost him $120 million in state income taxes this year. Tepper, 63, moved back to the Garden State in January for family reasons, people familiar with the matter said. Last year, he married a long-time New Jersey resident.
Couldn't he have moved her to FloridUH for a lot less? Women... Why do they make all of us men do stupid things*? *Rhetorical question, of course. We all know why.
Ask anybody in any country if he would like to pay less taxes. The huge majority (+90%) will want to pay less. Huge amounts are wasted on useless things or on corruption.
I just can't get over the fact that people seem to think money is valuable for its own sake rather than for the freedom having money gives you. Including the freedom to live wherever you choose, which is pretty high up the freedom scale for me after 20 years in the military where they told me where I was going to move to every 2-3 years. Choosing your residence based on taxes, especially when you're very wealthy, is the epitome of failure to grasp what really matters in life to me.
Men in the past throughout history have made big mistakes because of love, lust and women. Nothing new here.
it’s interesting. The really rich people i know have moved to Florida to avoid taxes and avoid the cold of the northeast. I get it. Florida for the wealthy is a bubble filled with rolls royces, beach front condos and high powered people. You can’t have that bubble anywhere and then you get a tax break to boot. the hourly compensated workers I know dictate everything based on where they want to live. I can’t get a single one of them to relocate even 90 miles from the town they want to live in.
