Bill Ackman, seems to be a terrible fund manager.

  1. Everything so far is a money loser.

    JCP - dumped at a 50% loss
HLF - his short is not doing good.

Obviously he is trading other peoples money, I am surprised people are not leaving in droves yet.

  2. I read he made 1300% on that GGP. That might carry him for awhile. Also MBI was a huge win.

He seems like an arrogant sob.

  3. as of aug 5th his fund was still green on the year- even in the midst of all of these high profile losing trades he's still doing better than a lot of people. (that's how he manages to keep assets under management)

he's actually good...he just let himself get in a pissing contest with the other hedgies and lost sight on his goals.

His track record is still among the best over the last decade. Everybody makes mistakes

good point, although the market is up 16%, so if his fund is up 4% let's say, he is still way underperforming...

I think if you look closer, you might find that some 70-80% of funds are under performing the S+P.

So he bought JCP at $25 in 2010. The stock went above $40 in early 2012 topping at 43 and he let it slip back to a 50% loss...

    Niiiiiiiiicceee.....
