The whole listen is really good, I get it that your average democrat nevers takes time to get a nuanced perception, they would rather get their news in 5 second sound bites and have people like John Stewart tell them what to think. If that describes you, its probably not something you would enjoy. I suggest listening to the whole but the real interesting new stuff starts at about halfway through at 1:56. Bill Ackman has been vocal in his criticism of Harvard University's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, which he has described as fundamentally flawed and discriminatory. In a lengthy essay posted online, Ackman argued that Harvard's DEI initiatives contribute to antisemitism and promote what he calls "reverse racism". He claims that these policies prioritize equity (equality of outcomes) over equality of opportunity, unfairly discriminating against certain groups like whites, Jews, and Asians by labeling them as oppressors within an "intersectional pyramid of oppression." Ackman's critique extends to the broader implications of DEI, which he believes labels various societal systems and standards, like capitalism and academic testing, as inherently racist due to their merit-based outcomes that might not equally represent racial demographics (The Independent) (Fox Business). Additionally, Ackman has suggested that Harvard's leadership selection processes are overly influenced by DEI criteria, to the extent that potential candidates are precluded if they do not align with these standards. He argues this approach limits the pool of suitable candidates for leadership roles and is detrimental to the institution's overall governance and effectiveness (Fox Business). Over the past week, Bill Ackman has been quite active, engaging in both financial and philanthropic activities. He expressed a political opinion regarding President Biden's capability for the 2024 campaign, suggesting that Biden is past his peak and should consider dropping out of the upcoming election. This statement was made during an interview for an episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations" (BNN). In addition to his political commentary, Ackman also made a significant philanthropic contribution. He donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe campaign supporting a teenage girl who was critically injured after being assaulted near her high school. The campaign has raised over $280,000 to help with the victim's medical expenses and recovery
Actually his wife used the recommended footnotes and citation style in her paper that was in place at the time she started writing it at the university . The university changed the expectations of style and formatting about a year before she completed her paper. This entire blow-up about citations and footnotes in her paper was a worthless nothing-burger -- promoted by people who wanted to stick it to Ackman.
She apologized for, as she says, "omitted quotation marks for certain work that I used". There were 4 paragraphs !? Reddit has him looking into CalTech ??? He's still upset.
Yes, attacking his wife for formatting in a paper with no intent to deceive about sources, etc. --- still has Bill Ackman upset. In fact, he still is on the offense against clowns who made libelous allegations against his wife. Seeing that he has the money to drag them through court for years, it is likely he will do so. This is what people get for obvious defamation -- when the person or their spouse has the resources to hold clowns responsible for fabricated nonsense. Keep in mind that Bill Ackman has no problem with you directly attacking him for his DEI opinions... in fact he seems to welcome it as he pressures universities about their policies -- but he is not going to put up with defamatory attacks against him or his family. Admittedly Bill Ackman is a loud-mouthed investor -- with all sorts of wild opinions over time. Most of them trying to "talk his book".
And... Thanks for confirming you did not watch the video. Those who contribute the least to society always complain the loudest.
