Big Big Energy move

I'm looking at energy instruments and it seems like many of them are primed for a big move/continued uptrend based on technicals, geopolitics, etc. I've never done a discretionary play on energy before but XOM, XLE and oil are all looking good for a long swing trade that could be held for weeks. Any opinions on which ones are the best play (XOM, XLE, oil etc.)?

  2. I agree.
I puts charts and editorial ABOUT OIL several days ago.

Bull market . . . where is it coming from

The greenies are busy with their electric pipe-dream
Meanwhile, they have not even secured the baseload of power
    for the U.S. economy.
In other words, they are switching the power source,
before the new power source has been confirmed to work,at all, nationwide.
In other words, putting the cart before the horse.

Anybody with any project management experience can see the
    folly from a mile away.
    Huge incompetence from many directions.
Just don't become a "victim" of this inflation.
That's why Warren Buffett is always laughing and grinning.
    He's nobody's victim.
I say go long oil stocks.
Protect yourself from the coming decade (at least) of inflation.

Crude oil had a good week.

This guy knows a lot about the oil industry and the companies involved.
He was in the business for decades but now just an investor.
At times he talks oil like Dest talks options so don't feel bad if it's a bit confusing at times. :)

  4. Its not just greenies doing it to themselves. Big oil doesn't plan on going away quietly. So, they are playing hard ball during this very strategic election year. The president (greenies) doesn't make all the decisions and their opposition are pulling out the big guns right about now (I have no election opinions here). From here going forward there will be some hard fought ground right here inside of USA regarding this topic. Oil prolly wont go lower at all.

  5. But if you're short, best not to stand in front of the steamroller.
But just out of curiosity, exactly what are two large companies (e.g.CVX and XOM) doing
to "play hardball". Or is that the talking point from talking heads at CNN, MSNBC or NPR? Of course, they are not really talking h They are only people who manufacture political opinion rom very blaRUlurry facts.
And the result is large quantities of peopleood about what thy did with investments, what they did in an electiom.Bottom line, these peoople are always unhappy, moreoften miserable.

    Please either post examples
, or don't clutter this trading message board with emotionaly charged invectives.
The ball is now in your court Mr, //Ms.Pricechange.
    Please go for it.

Interestingly many people are not aware that they are very late in the market.

You must have been sleeping for many months.

I hold some of this utility...NorthWestern Energy Group (NWE).

They still own (and run) a coal burning electric plant in Montana!!

  9. The chart says everything..If you CANT read the chart..I dont know what to say to you...CNN is not manufacturing the charts...The charts speak much more loudly than CNN or your own hot winds of inquiry.

  10. it has nothing to do with charts.
    You said:
"So, they [oil companies] are playing hard ball"
I need to see some examples of that.
Otherwise you are posting propaganda here, or even falsehoods.
Trading/Investing is tough enough when dealing with facts.
Propaganda and false statements make it nearly impossible.
