Gee a Democrat who wants to raise taxes, no surprise. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/20/what-a-biden-presidency-could-mean-for-social-security-benefits.html
Amazing how the Dem's solution to the budget is ALWAYS "higher taxes" and NEVER "spend tax revenues more efficiently/wisely".
gee I wonder why? https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/25/how...-deplete-social-security-as-soon-as-2023.html Stick to grifting and peddling your garbage on the other sections Ken
First and foremost we must acknowledge that had congress not embezzled all the money into the general fund there wouldn't be a shortage today. Both Democrats and Republicans have been only to eager to rob this fund for their pet projects and wars. We must also point out it was Ronnie Rayguns who had no problems taxing Social Security benefits. Now that we have those inconvenient facts out of the way, I say the cap on taxed income should be removed altogether, should have been done decades ago. However, benefits should not be expanded at this time as the fund must be built up for awhile. The best way to do that is to revisit the Al Gore plan for removing Social Security from the general fund and putting the collected monies in the "lockbox" to be used for paying social security benefits and only those benefits. Once again we see a criminally corrupt congress has been the problem all along.
Don't care. I will never see social security and neither will you. No retirement calculation I run for myself includes social security money. If I can't retire with my own money I won't be able to retire. Period. Less payroll taxes, more money into the pockets of Americans, less money for congressional reptiles to "borrow" and never pay back.
by that logic, let's all just stop paying taxes since most of us don't use the majority of resources it pays for.
