Biden says he agrees with GOP governors: There's 'no federal solution' to pandemic President Biden on a call with governorsMonday said he agrees with two GOP state executives that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mitigate COVID-19, even as his administration is pushing major federal solutions to the pandemic that's nearly two years old Biden made the comment after Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who is the chair of the National Governors Association, cautioned the president against taking actions that may step on states' toes as they aim to fight the virus “There is no federal solution. This gets solved at the state level," Biden responded, before mentioning another Republican governor Read more at, https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-states-fix-omicron-covid-governors-call
The Federal, State, and City can only ask people to get vaccinated because Delta is still causing hospitalization and death. In contrast, Omicron is only causing mild symptoms...so far. Simply, a Federal solution to Omicron is not needed but if it mutates into something pathogenic and a solution is needed...at this point with all the resistance and hesitancy...it should be a local solution for the City and State to deal with. A crude way to say it...the 40 - 50 million that refuse to get vaccinated...they're on their own if they expect the Federal to do more to solve the Covid problem being created from other countries that are going to make them happy. Variants of Concern are unpredictable and can easily mutate again into something much more pathogenic than the Delta...let those not vaccinated either request help when a pathogenic mutation occurs again or let them walk that path alone considering they made the decision to not be vaccinated so that when they do get infected... it's only a mild illness for most instead of hospitalization or death. By the way, what idiot wants public health officials to PREDICT when the Pandemic will end. It will never end as long as there are countries out there with a large pool of their citizens as not vaccinated with low health standards. Trump locked down the country and it still didn't work because we spiral out of control when we re-opened. In contrast, Biden vowed to not lock down again and will instead concentrate on trying to get people vaccinated. I'm glad he mandated our military get vaccinated. Bio-warfare is an excellent tool to weaken a country before attacking them or preventing them from attacking you if you attack one of their allies. By the way, other countries have essentially said "fuck those not vaccinated"...instead, lock down the not vaccinated and let everyone else get back to a new normal. wrbtrader
Actually, it does but you still don't get it including not realizing the article came with a video that I made a choice to address plus address a few things from the article that's important to me. I'll keep it brief this time for easier understanding. Many states not doing their part to end the Pandemic and that forced Biden to use Federal mitigation measures. It's worked very successfully in some areas (e.g. mandated vaccination of our military) and not so much in other areas. Omicron, as I've stated to you many many times...its a warning shot. If it mutates to something very pathogenic...those not vaccinated are fucked and you guys will be bitching that he didn't do enough to stop something that's very pathogenic from happening after all of you're court challenges against mandates. Covid is going to keep mutating in other countries with low vaccination. You nor anyone else can stop that. Too many states and cities have a public health policy of "crossing their fingers" that a pathogenic mutation doesn't show up. Good luck with that. wrbtrader
Arkansas' Republican governor thanked President Joe Biden for depoliticizing the federal COVID-19 response https://www.businessinsider.com/gop...den-for-depoliticizing-covid-response-2021-12 Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas thanked President Biden during a Monday conference call. The GOP leader applauded the president's efforts to "depoliticize" the response to COVID-19. On the call, Biden addressed governors' concerns about rapid-testing shortages in hard-hit states. Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas reached across the symbolic aisle on Monday to thank President Joe Biden for his efforts to "depoliticize" the country's COVID-19 response amid the raging Omicron variant. The Republican leader made the comments during a conference call held by the Biden administration with the governors of several states to discuss the national response to the worrisome Omicron variant, which has sparked a spike in cases across the country in recent days and prompted testing shortages and delays. "I want to thank all of the White House team for being such great support to the governors," Hutchinson said during his opening remarks, according to The Hill."And I want to thank [you], Mr. President, [for] your address to the nation last week. Thank you for your comments designed to depoliticize our COVID response. I think that was helpful." Last week, Biden outlined additional steps his administration is taking to fight the Omicron variant in a national address. In addition to offering a "stark warning" to the unvaccinated, Biden also offered a rare point of praise to his predecessor, former President Donald Trump "Thanks to the prior administration and our scientific community, America is one of the first countries to get the vaccine," Biden said during his speech from the White House last Tuesday. "And thanks to my administration and the hard work of Americans, we led a rollout that made America among the world leaders in getting shots in arms." During the speech, Biden also applauded Trump's announcement that he'd received a booster shot. On Monday's conference call, Biden and his White House COVID-19 response team attempted to ease worried governors who decried long testing lines and rapid test shortages in several states where Omicron has exploded. After thanking the president for his previous comments about increasing the supply chain on rapid COVID-19 tests, Hutchinson, who serves as chair of the National Governors Association, also warned federal officials that the government's plan to buy and distribute 500 million free rapid testscould impede states' attempts to boost supply on an individual level. "Make sure that we do not let federal solutions stand in the way of state solutions," Hutchinson said, according to Politico. On the call, Biden discussed his administration's efforts to improve testing availability by highlighting the proposed purchase of 500 million tests, as well as an additional plan that will require private insurers to reimburse at-home test purchases. The meeting came as the US averages more than 200,000 cases per day, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In a matter of weeks during December, the Omicron variant has prompted the nation's largest surge in cases since last winter's peak. Biden ended Monday's call with a note of positivity, telling the governors that Omicron is a source of concern, but not cause for panic, and assured listeners that the federal government is equipped to help states deal with surges.
Agree...Omicron is putting enough fear to probably encourage a few million more to get vaccinated but it's not causing a panic. If there was a Panic...they would probably have closed "Domestic Air Travel" for the holidays or at the minimum...required full vaccination or a recent negative Covid test (within 1 day) like Canada has done. The good thing...there was a small discussion about shortening the "Isolation for those Asymptomatic" period from 10 days to 5 days to minimize the impact on workers especially those in the healthcare system...the latter is hurting big time during this Omicron surge because many healthcare workers have been infected and calling in sick. Also, as we recently saw, the Airlines industry has been hit hard too with all the recent cancellations due to Pilots, Stewardesses, and Maintenance employees calling in sick because of a Covid infection that required that long 10 days "isolation". wrbtrader
SD Governor Calls On Biden To Rescind All Mandates After He Claims ‘There Is No Federal Solution’ To Pandemic “After a year, we finally agree @potus. The federal government isn’t the solution. That’s why from the start, SD took a different approach by trusting our citizens to be responsible and make the right decisions for themselves & their families. Now rescind all the federal mandates,” Noem tweeted on Tuesday.
Eventually, the voice of reason was heard by the President. It took only a year. Liberals and left politicians are still digesting in disbelieve.
?? Very few said the feds should impose martial law and forcibly vaccinate people. It's a far cry from taking Donnie's "we ain't doing shit, figure it out States, unless you voted for me" approach
