President Biden told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy Friday that he applied to the school in 1965 — but a quick check of his biography shows problems with the story.

Biden said he applied to Annapolis with a letter from then-Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, but the year he cited — 1965 — is the same year he graduated from the University of Delaware. The academy doesn’t offer graduate degrees.

“I was told the Class of ’72 is here. I was appointed to the academy in 1965 by a senator who I was running against in 1972 — never planned it that way. I wasn’t old enough to be sworn in. I was only 29 years old when I was running,” Biden said.

“He was a fine man. His name is J. Caleb Boggs,” the president went on. “I didn’t come to the academy because I wanted to be a football star. And you had a guy named [Roger] Staubach and [Joe] Bellino here. So I went to Delaware.”

This is true of everyone, whether in charge or not, if the trivial definition of "lie" is being used. Most likely it's the trivial definition being here used by the thread initiator, i.e., to write or say something that is false. By this definition we are all habitual liars. Obviously then, the trivial definition is used only out of ignorance, or perhaps intentionally by those wanting to mislead.

Thus, there is a good reason why use of the word "lie" should be reserved for cases where the false writing or statement is intentional.

  6. Or stop using the word lies with politicians because it loses all meanings. Politicians make promises during campaigns to get elected that an intelligent person knows cannot be fulfilled but the electorate is very stupid on average.

When in office they massage the truth to never admit fault but take credit for anything good. It is not outright lying but it basically decietful. Again... we have an electorate that is gullible nad stupid so it works.

Not to mention we have an electorate and media with a short news cycle so they basically just move on so the broken promise or decietful interpretation of events is pushed aside for the next one.

This case was completely intentional and Biden has repeatedly done this. It shouldnt surprise me that this is coming from Piezoe. He makes up shit all the time.

We discussed this, as the situation changed so did my opinion. It is called learning.

You know, I posted a video that you were supposed to watch. It addressed that very topic. I guess you plan to remain ignorant.

Only a true dumb ass would have ever had the opinion that Trump was a Hillary Clinton mole.
