Biden Democrats and Unions

I seriously hope a non union firm steps up and tells Biden and the Dems to shove it up their ass with their seeming hatred of non union businesses. It is appalling that they keep pumping that only Union employees are well trained and can do whatever job correctly. Am I missing something, but aren't railroads heavily unionized? Didn't seem to help lately, but I suppose that is all the companies fault.
Our youngest worked for a non union firm that did their own in house training in a state of the art facility, but ended up at a Union firm because it was closer to where he lived and he wasn't going to have to travel as far for training and work. The non union place was great in providing a safe work environment and training. The people he worked with were helpful and hard working. They put in full days and stayed late if they needed to finish something. Also he made roughly the same pay as the Union people.
The Union shop he went to was a good company, but the job sites were all union and dangerous. At one job he had a crew of clowns throw 2x4's off the third floor and miss him by 3 feet as he was walking, with one of the boards bouncing over and hitting him in the leg. There were guys smoking dope on the site, and in general people showed up when they felt like it and left when they felt the day was done, not actually done. At another site he had a crew of 3 from another firm try to pick a fight with him on the job site because he asked them to move a piece of equipment so he could get to what he needed to work on at the time. He worked with a couple good people, but they tended to be younger like him. The older guys he worked with and was supposed to be learning from would show up late, disappear for smoke breaks constantly, and cut out early.
Instead of finding another place to work he said f*** it he was so ticked off, and went to college and will finish a dual degree next fall.
I can also attest to the shithole Unions can be. I had a job long ago, while I was between assignments and needed some income, at a non union airline on the ramp initially. All the other airlines were union. The difference in work ethic on the whole was insane. One incident stuck out for me was another airline agreed to let us use a gate for an arrival as ours were full. We stacked up over there to wait for our plane. They had a plane at the gate and were loading it. Since we were standing around we figured we could help them so we walked over and started handing them luggage and freight out of the carts. Their head union guy comes out and tells everyone to leave and stop loading the plane. We apparently violated a union law by helping and so they could stop work and walk off, and they did, leaving the plane half loaded with passengers on board waiting to depart. No one said don't help, or we got this, they just waited for the big dickhead to pull his little power trip stunt, and the paying passengers went out late as a result. Also our plane ended up burning fuel while waiting for a gate to open because we thought we were helping. Fu**ing moron thought process of a Union.

Maybe you can give a summary, since on my computer monitor it is basically unreadable.

I read it, it’s basically a rant against unions based on some exaggerated anecdotes from the posters allegedly first hand experience when working at an airport and his son’s experience working a union job on some kind of construction work site.

He makes gripes about a delayed flight when he claims to have offered to help load baggage on a plane violating unions rules (really it’s a contract and the union was right). Then his son almost getting hit by a 2x4 he claims was due to unsafe work but more likely due to not having work site awareness. I worked construction through college, you have to keep your eyes open on a busy work site.

Oddly as far as the posters airport experience, it was one of many observations of the difference between the Union and non union airlines. As far a my son it couldn't have been more obvious the difference in attitudes towards work, safety and quality on a job site. I in know way say all union people are lazy and stupid, but in our time on the jobs it was a pathetic prevailing attitude.

That is a pervasive work ethic. It has been building for years and years. Makes me very mad when I had to do others peoples' jobs to get the day's work done. And have you heard of the latest trend? The "Minimalist Monday" trend? It is where you do the least you can so you don't stress out or some shit. OMG!

Employers don't give a fuck about thier workers so workers shouldn't give a fuck about them imo.

I think that is the wrong attitude. If the workers will just show that they have the desire and drive to make the company better, the employer will eventually capitulate and go "Hmm, we should treat our employees a bit better." This may sound altruistic, but I have always felt that to be true. It is the middle management that fucks it all up, and interrupts the messages the lower workers are sending to the upper management. If that makes sense.
