    Hello,

I have been using Thinkorswim and have been satisfied with it, but their strategy development and testing capabilities are limited, and they do not allow a fully automated strategy execution.

I am not a developer and cannot write code, but I can do minor code edits if necessary and I understand how coding works. I am looking for a software that would allow me to develop, test (historical/forward) and autotrade a stock/futures trading strategy, such as The Turtle, for example.

I am a bit overwhelmed with what is out there; TradeStation, Multicharts, Ninja, TradeNavigator, OmniTrader, Trade-Ideas, Cool-Trade, AmiBroker, Wealth Lab, TradingBlox, OpenQuant, MetaTrader5, Amibroker, RightEdge, ProfitSource, VectorVest, Wave59, just to mention some of them.

Ideally, I would like to have a software package that already comes with The Turtle system that is ready for autotrading, so that I can use it as a foundation for further tweaking and experimenting. If it does not come with it, that is fine, but it would be nice if it was available for purchase, such as from PointZeroTrading, for example.

So, which software would you recommend?

    I appreciate your help.

Turtle system is for trend followers and trend-following has been doing terribly since volatility increased and markets show larger swings than in the 1980s when the method was developed. The majority of CTAs that use the turtle system of its many variations have not been able to make decent returns in the past 4 years (for more info look at the blog of Jez Liberty, excellent stuff imo). Maybe this will change but things do not look good for trend followers at this point. For those who cannot develop systems on their own or want to take advantage of data mining there are programs like strategy quant, price action lab, adaptrade, and some others that will auto-generate code you can use in platforms like tradestation, multicharts and MT to both backtest and execute trades.
