Best place to get Data?

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by quin8670, Apr 18, 2009.

  1. I have been using Sierra Chart and open tick data for the last couple of years. Open tick has closed up shop and I'm trying to find a data provider that can produce volume bars. Can anyone give me some suggestions of some low cost alternatives. Subscribing to IQ Feed if I remain at Sierra will cost over $70 for the data alone. Is this around the standard price for data, or is IQ feed an overpriced data provider?

    Thanks

  2. No, IQFeed is one of the cheaper providers.

Another possibility might be esignal. If you use 3rd party software like sierra, its possible to subscribe for "data only". You wont be able to launch the esignal charting application, but sierra will be able to connect. Its $50 + exchange fees. They dont advertise this, contact them through chat if you are interested.
