Fellow Traders, What are the best and most objective financial tv channels, such as Fox, Bloomberg or CNBC that give the best and most objective financial news that could be use as an indicator for our trading. What are your opinions?
When it comes to "news", they should all be about the same. Despite the Leftist's cry of "Fox lies", no network "makes up stories and broadcasts them". Left-leaning networks, however, tend to emphasize things out of context and censor stories not favorable to the Leftist agenda. As to "POV" or "opinion" shows, that's a different animal.
"objective financial news" might be beyond reach as every channel needs to point out issues to excess to get you to watch. I do find CNBC is entertaining and feel by watching I have a better sense of what's happening.
Almost all except FOX! They use taglines like, "fair and balanced", and "we report, you decide". They are correct about that. If you go by ratings and viewer numbers, FOX TROUNCES all the rest. Apparently not everyone is as naive and stupid as the Lefties want us to believe.
What you're describing is "opinion", not news. News is news... fact. When one twists/censors their broadcast, it becomes "POV" or "opinion".
I switch between cnbc and btv and never miss European Closing on cnbw 11:00, at night I watch cnbw I'll check out Varnery just for entertainment from 9 to 11 if you are waiting for a number cnbc is probably the best
the main thing is never be fooled into thinking any so called expert knows what the market will do. I listen to the opinions to get a consensus, but any trading decision I make is my own. I just keep the tv on in the background. Remember, they are entertainers trying to sell advertising. And the guests just want their name and the name of their firm on tv. Most opinions on cnbc are no better than most opinions on ET.
Fox, Bloomberg and CNBC can be had for a few extra bucks on your cable package and some charting providers give them for free. Is there a reason why you can't subscribe or watch them to decide on your own ? What's important to you most likely is not important to someone else and vice versa.
I have DTV, it's great, I get cnbc, BTV, FBN and most importantly cnbw, all in the basic package. I'm a real old fashioned tv freak. Grew up with just three channels that all signed off at midnight. Went 30 years with no tv. Now, if I am awake, it is on in the background. The regular talking heads start to become my friends. It is really sick. But the only substitute I can think of would be to shave, get a haircut, put on a suit and tie, and go out on the Street and try to make connections. And I already did that. I like watching tv better.
