Just want to know what kind of color setup is minimal damaging for the vision. I use BLACK background, WHITE upbars, RED downbars. I have a feeling that this setup is not optimal but I've tried white background and this feels much worse. I'm sure that some of experienced active trader can help the novice (me) to save my vision a little! Thanks in advance and beg pardon for my bad English.
I use green background with black bars. Works best for me, and been doing that for long time. Then I ran into the scientific explanation some time ago. Images
I prefer an off-white/eggshell background with red and black bars. With a full white background I feel like I am squinting against the brightness. Try something around 245,245,245 to 250,250,250 and see how that works.
Try shades of blue. Blue is a color linked to 1) intelligence 2) calm (bluish tint of the ocean is related to holiday and calm) on the negative side, blue is linked to 3) lack of emotion (coldness) This link explains it better. http://www.colour-affects.co.uk/psychological-properties-of-colours
I use blue as well, mostly because it's a bit easier on my eyes. When I went to a single 40" monitor, my old color scheme was killing me..... Lack of emotion when it comes to trading actually seems like a bonus.
