Hi New member here. I am based in the UK and looking to connect my Sierra Chart package to a futures broker to trade CL. In the past I have traded with FXCM and IG which both come as an all-in-one package. Having a separate broker and charting software is new to me but I love the customisabilty of Sierra chart so this is the route I am now going down. I only intend to trade CL on a swing and intraday basis. Very little, if any, scalping. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Boov
Thanks for the responses guys. Those are two of the three that were on my radar anyway along with Stage 5 so it looks like I was on the right track.
I received an email today from Amp Global that due to Brexit they are closing UK accounts, so you will need to remove them from your list. Maybe the reference above was to Amp Futures, the US operation.
How does the UK bank account deposit work at AMP Futures? I thought they needed deposits to a US account using ACH (from another US account) or it's Swift and a £30 charge as well as FX spreads. Are you able to hold USD in a UK account and transfer to AMP instantly without charges? Having been turfed out of AMP Global due to Brexit, I'm considering AMP Futures and just wondered how annoying that will be for deposits/withdrawals.
https://www.ampfutures.com/client-portal/funding-instructions/ You pay for withdrawals and currency conversions. You can start trading without doing a conversion and then when you want to withdraw your profit you will need to do a conversion from USD to GBP since your profit will be in USD and then request a withdrawal. Not cheap if you plan on doing that often but i haven't found a good/cheaper alternative just yet for low deposits. If you plan on depositing +$5K you could look at Phillip Capital, if you plan on depositing +$10K you could look at ADMIS. Not sure about the fees at IB.
IB have a multi currency account so you can deposit sterling to their U.K. bank account and trade without doing a conversion as a margin loan in usd.
