Best 3rd party platforms with IB

For those using IB as their broker, what platform do you use where you can integrate IB with that platform?

Dastrader is pretty good. Medved is also a good option and costs much less

I use Multicharts and always another data source than IB.

 

Any issues when too many charts are open at the same time or loading charts? Which data source? IQ Feed?

 

Since I also use Tradestation, I use their (great) data for Multicharts.
I just have about 3 to 4 charts open with Multicharts, so I am not sure how many charts could create an issue.

 

Sterling VolTrader (formerly LVX) through Lime (formerly Lightspeed) Brokerage. It meets my simple needs for selling one-leg transactions.

Also recommend Multi Charts, MedVed Trader, Tastyworks, and Questrade.

Multicharts has a 30-day trial, same people that made tradingview.com

MedVed Trader connects to lots of brokerages for data and trading. Superior charting. Customizable paint bars/scans/alerts. Visual trading from charts or DOM. etc.

Questrade for conditional orders for options. However, it is pretty boring.

Multicharts looks good if it was made by those who made tradingview.com

 

I tried Motivewave and Ninja for charting and trading (only MW). I ´m of the opinion that you need a second data source to use this combination. Otherwise ib´s backfill for charting takes forever and drives you crazy.

 

You mean trial mode? When you connect through IB API are you also using IB data feed? I thought its just to connect your brokerage account
