It sure looks like Establishment Republicans are doing what they have done for years. Push off the actions their base wants and cave in to the democrats and the cronies first. We have seen this pattern for years. Most recently with the sequester cuts and Obamacare. it is disgusting. The Rs have to get rid of Boehner. He is destroying the will of the base that just got rid of democrats in almost a landslide. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...Long-To-Postpone-Fight-Over-Executive-Amnesty Following a closed-door meeting described as passionate but not contentious, Republicans are poised to move forward on a two-step response to President Obama's executive action, but they are still haggling over the details. As early as this week, the GOP will move on a bill introduced by Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) to explicitly deny the authority to declare whole categories of people immune from prosecution under immigration law. Next week, they are likely to move forward on a spending bill that carves out immigration-related funding, only providing it a short extension. But the length of that extension was the most vigorously discussed part of the closed-door session, with conservatives raising concerns about leadership's proposal to extend funding until March, saying that would be too long. “The problem I have...is that the [immigration portion] would be funded until the end of March. I think that's way too long. The president is already printing work permits as we speak. Why do we want to give him another 2-3 months? We could vote on this the day we get back,” said Rep. John Fleming (R-LA). Speaker John Boehner told reporters after the meeting that no decisions had been made. “The president on the other hand has ignored the will of the American people and he has refused to listen. His decision to take unilateral action on immigration — actions he himself has said exceeded his authority — and makes it harder for the American people and their elected representatives to trust his word on anything,” Boehner said. “We’re looking at a variety of options, both right now and when Republicans control both Houses of Congress next year,” he added.
http://www.breitbart.com/InstaBlog/...sed-to-Deal-With-the-Devil-to-Avoid-Shut-Down With House conservatives wanting to keep the pressure on Barack Obama given his end run of the political process when it comes to illegal immigration, reports indicateRepublican House Speaker John Boehner may be considering doing the un-thinkable -- abandoning House conservatives to do a deal with Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi to keep the government open long-term. Hardline conservatives who have caused problems for leaders for years were not falling in line. These conservatives estimate their ranks are 30 to 40, enough to derail a vote. That swelling Republican opposition gives Pelosi and her down-in-the-dumps House Democrats some unexpected power: the ability to rescue Boehner’s Republican Conference as Democrats have again and again in the big fights of the past three years. If Boehner cuts that deal, it will serve as a warning that Boehner intends to do precisely as some have predicted, abandon House Conservatives next year and rely on moderates and Democrats to govern weakly, to the extent he can. That stands in stark contrast to Democrats and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi who seemed to relish shoving bills like ObamaCare down America's throat, GOP opposition be damned. So after a big election victory this fall in which Republicans took the Senate and strengthened their grip on the House, instead of Republicans uniting around their own leadership’s plan, they are about to risk giving more control to Pelosi’s shrinking Democratic Caucus. It makes Boehner allies cringe. Pelosi (D-Calif.) has been coy about where she’ll fall — she and her allies have sent signals she’ll oppose the measure — but her circle says she’s mulling over her options. It’s clearly a touchy situation for Democrats. Steny Hoyer, Pelosi’s deputy, told POLITICO in the morning he might support the measure, but later in the day, he walked back his statement. Forget When Harry Met Sally, for those who remember it at all. Come next year, the story of the Republican controlled House may be written as When John Met Nancy, much to the dismay of Conservative Republicans who actually want to fight, for what they tell their voters they believe in. For now, Speaker Boehner seems to be seriously contemplating turning tan and running. But there’s a lot at stake over the next week for every Republican leader. If Boehner missteps, he could enrage conservatives whose votes he needs to remain speaker, come January. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California promised to end pointless legislative battles, and Congress is barreling headlong into yet another one. Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, who is taking some credit for this package, ran a leadership campaign based on bringing conservatives on board to leadership packages. But at this point, they’re peeling off, raising some early questions about Scalise’s effectiveness. The opposition from within House GOP ranks is easy to explain: Conservatives want to put up a tougher fight with Obama over his executive order ending the deportation threat for millions of undocumented immigrants.
I just love the republicans, they represent me so well I am old, and I am white and I am dying, a perfect fit those democrats are really bad Everybody needs a republican, get yours now, they take bribes, it won't cost you that much
This may be the answer to how much it costs... I found this on front page of my google search... http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/boehner-amnesty-then-posh-florida-condo.282334/ So Boehner almost destroys his party with his push for amnesty... jeopardizes his speakership..... and then buys an $800,000 dollar condo with a http://www.realtytoday.com/articles...vernment-2014-02-19-boehner-buys-fl-condo.htm John Boehner, speaker of the House of Representatives, just purchased a luxurious condo in an exclusive area in Marco Island, Fla., for $835,000 on Feb. 11, giving rise to speculations that the Ohio Republican is planning to retire at the end of the current Congress. The Speaker's spokesman Micheal Steel, however, denied the retirement reports, telling Breitbart News: "This area of Florida has been the Boehners' family vacation spot for many years, and rather than continue to put money into vacation rentals year after year, they decided to buy a condo. Their home is in West Chester, Ohio, and will continue to be." Like Us on Facebook The new home is located in the Tampico condominiums of Marco Island and is said to be a "luxury residence" in Cape Marco. The unit covers an area of 2,093 square feet and is comprised of three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an open-floor plan unit with a balcony offering uninterrupted views of the evening sunset. The 14-story building offers a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico and island from its terraces, meanwhile offering the experience of living in a "beach villa." All units in the building are a chef's delight, complete with kitchens equipped with Poggenpohl cabinetry, Corian countertops and a appliance package from the General Electric Monogram Series. The condo also includes master suites with spacious master baths featuring a large walk-in shower and a whirlpool tub. Quoting the real estate records available with the Collier County, Fla., a report in USA Today says Boehner obtained a mortgage worth $650,000 from John S. Lucas Jr. in order to fund the home purchase. According to the records, the condo comes with a quarterly fee of $3,900. Unlike many Congressmen, who own several properties, Boehner and his wife Deborah previously owned just one house in West Chester, Ohio. When working, Boehner lives in a rented basement apartment in a Capitol Hill row house. I----------- I wonder if that is the John Lucas who played in the NBA and who was a great tennis player. (Lucas does seem like a nice guy, he used to say hello to us at Haynes point tennis courts when I played their with my tennis team a long time ago.) But, I wonder why he is giving a mortgage to Boehner.
The House seems to be unaware that there is a Senate. And to think we are paying these people to do this stuff! Why don't they just get together with the Senate and draft a comprehensive immigration bill that can pass both Houses??? Cut out the nonsense and move on, I say.
Because the bill the dems and the establishment Rs want to pass for their crony campaign bribers... is almost opposite what 73% of the American People want. So they are trying to find a way to screw the people and still keep their jobs. Politics is not easy. 29 democrat senators who voted for Obamacare have already lost their jobs. Eric Cantor lost his leadership position. Its not so easy screwing the taxpayers and getting away with it since the advent of Drudge and Breitbart and bloggers. So they are trying to find a ways to keep their jobs and act like they could not stop Obama.
You do realize the "conservatives" at the time of the American Revolution supported the King. The "liberals" are the ones that revolted.
Then of course you must think that Boehner and Mcconnell are "conservative" for not wanting to rock the boat and Cruz and Palin are very "liberal" for wanting to stir things up and be "progressive". Right? Lmao
yeah well, we don't like change one revolution was enough, most of us lost our lives and all of our property the good thing is, we got rid of the King the old fashioned conservatives who don't like change are always anti King these new history ignorant liberals are always fighting for a new King didn't they talk about this in the Bible? God warned the jews this would happen, but they wanted a King, just like other nations you can look it up and read about it
