Hello I wonder if anyone could help me here as I'm a bit confused with when the FTSE 100 is actually trading (producing live data). I have been watching the (delayed) prices on Hargreaves Lansdown's website, and the FTSE seems to be active from around 8.00am until 4.45pm, which makes sense as it reflects what I'd expect from prices delayed by fifteen minutes applied to the opening hours that I expected (8.00am until 4.30pm). However, I recently found a chart at this site: http://www.stock-trkr.co.uk/indices/ftse_100_live_chart I have been watching the chart on that site (provided by 'TradingView'), and the prices continue well past the close on Hargreaves Lansdown's site, and also open a lot earlier. I can see price data from just before 7.00am until 9.00pm. Where is this data coming from? Is it possible to buy and sell within these extra hours? I previously thought I would be limited to the open hours on Hargreaves Lansdown (which is where I have an account). Thanks very much in advance.
