What you mean SunTrader? All the time I see article about how even if you had invested at market tops years ago you would still be way ahead, yadda yadda yadda. What are you trying to say?
If you plan to "B&H", overpriced valuation might mean something. If you're a trader (and after all, this is a trading website), it doesn't matter one hoot. You should be buying when the market is buying and selling when the market is selling... valuations (and everything else) be DAMNED! That's "Price TA". KISS, baby!
This I can understand, it is spoke in plain English. BUT, can a trader never buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying? I thought stuff like trying to time trend reversals was a legit trading strategy.
Some folks, for the first time, got long at the top of the markets - Jan 3rd 1st day of trading 2022. Took crash of '29 investors to get whole decades later. Took $NDX dot.com.bomb folks something like 15 years to also get back above water. Many folks don't live to see those days. Where and when you get in .... and out matters. Not what some clueless media type writes about.
Price TA is only partly (very small part) about "trying to time/catch the turn tic". It's more about recognizing what "has already happened, what it means, and what you should do about it." The biggest knock on TA runs along the line, "you can't time all the turns perfectly,so TA is invalid". True the "can't time (all) the turns perfectly", But, "timing the turn exactly" is not a requirement. And the conclusion of, "therefore, TA is invalid"... that's just pure HORSESHIT!
