Got admit the federal government with trillions in deficits criticizing a federal agency because it loses money even though it provides an essential service is pure irony. I think the fact that you can send a letter from NY to LA for $0.40 or whatever the current postage is shows you why they are losing.money but they are a public service and operating in the red like almost all other services.
I love the post office.I can only imagine what shipping prices would be if UPS and Fed Ex set the market's air and ground shipping prices and did away with 50 cent postage which they certainly would.
I'm not even sure it was even so much in the red before Corona. Either he's looking to suppress the mail in vote or he wants to hit Bezos's bottom line. Surely none of these companies are lobbying Trump's goons to take out their subsidized competitor. Surely their goal is not to bankrupt it and privatize a tax funded infrastructure for pennies on the dollar. Surely they would deliver mail-in votes on a timely fashion and wouldn't play favorites for the candidate of their choice.
