Barr just announced federal lawsuits against the State of New Jersey and King County, Washington (Seattle) for their sanctuary city policies that violate federal law. When the federal government wins a lawsuit against a governing body it generally means there will be a consent decree under which a judge will decree some particular things that must be done and then will monitor for compliance. If the governing body is deemed to be non-compliant the federal government can then takeover the running of that body. We've seen it before with the Chicago Police Department, the Los Angeles Police department and other agencies
