Steven Bannon, who Desi Lydic of The Daily Show described as “the man who looks like the ‘before’ picture in a foot lotion commercial.”
This is being spun as a return to normal. Bannon supposedly only went on the NSC as a check on Flynn, which seems very odd to me. I suspect that Bannon came out second in a fight with Jared Kushner. Roger Stone claimed yesterday that Kushner had been giving a lot of info to Morning Joe. That had the look of some sort of payback.
Reading that article makes this appear to be an appeasement strategy from Trump. That's what I get from it.
I also think Ivanka has a lot to do with what happens at the top. She is most likely the brains behind all this. Getting rid of Bannon is a very good move to bring the administration more to the center, which is where Trump really belongs, if you can ignore his ego!
So his best move is to pander to people who opposed him and fuck over his supporters? That is right out of the republican playbook.
Never mind. The reasoning for Bannon's removal is nothing related to what I wrote. As I understand it now, he was there to de-operationalize the council, which was achieved under McMaster.
