    NAFTA 2.0? What NAFTA 2.0?

Human rights abuses here we go, if you can't keep a broken promise, pass the blame elsewhere.

The U.S. will impose a 5% tariff on all Mexican imports from June 10, President Donald Trump said in a tweet on Thursday night.

“The Tariff will gradually increase until the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied,” Trump said in his tweet, adding that ”....at which time the Tariffs will be removed.”

The White House confirmed in a statement that the 5% tariff on all Mexican imports will take effect on June 10, and added: “If the illegal migration crisis is alleviated through effective actions taken by Mexico, to be determined in our sole discretion and judgment, the Tariffs will be removed. If the crisis persists, however, the Tariffs will be raised to 10 percent on July 1, 2019.”

In addition, if Mexico does not take dramatic action to reduce or eliminate the number of illegal aliens crossing its territory into the U.S., “Tariffs will be increased to 15 percent on August 1, 2019, to 20 percent on September 1, 2019, and to 25 percent on October 1, 2019,” the White House added.

“Tariffs will permanently remain at the 25 percent level unless and until Mexico substantially stops the illegal inflow of aliens coming through its territory.”

  4. Now our Mexican allies have a little skin in the game. This move is way overdue.

It's gonna backfire. If you taught the Chinese were resilient/patriotic, ooh boy, wait 'til you see 100 million pissed off mexicans led by a lefty itching to spite an arrogant meddling yankee gringo.

It's just as likely just another lie/distraction for the base as NAFTA 2.0 is about to be ratified

  6. I see. So Mexico is facilitating the migration of South and Central America into the United States but Trump is the one "meddling."

You may wake up and find in 2020 that some of what you consider to be Trump's base, used to be part of the dem base. Would not be the first time that happened, eh?

They're not facilitating entry into the US, The US has sovereignty over its territory as does Mexico. If we can't monitor our borders, it's our business, not Mexico's.

  8. Trump just told Mexico that he will be monitoring our border.

    CHAAA-CHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Notice how I overlooked your statement that Mexico is not facilitating the entry of foreigners into this country (both from Mexico and further down).

Idiot incarnate. That kind of stupid cannot be fixed.

  9. What about all t hose U.S. companies who opened factories in Mexico and then ship their goods back across the border. As usual, it will be Americans shooting themselves in the foot while Mexico laughs. Also watch as those suffering U.S. companies bring lawsuits to enforce NAFTA. This should be fun...

For the record, I do not agree with the tariff. However, I'm trying to understand your position here. You are saying it is the US's fault and responsibility to deal with the immigration issue, but you have also supported immigration and rallied against solutions that would solve illegal immigration. Do I have an accurate understanding of your position? Because it really seems like it is inconsistent.
