Thoughts on BABA as a long-term buy?

Long-term value investing legends Munger, Pabrai and Alexander took sizable positions during the slide.

A number of savvy people we have all heard of went flat Chinese stocks during the slide.

    What do you think?

use a straight ruler and draw a descending trend line touching the peaks.
or you can draw a bearish channel.

how low will it go? 180? 130? 60?

when will it break out of this descending trend line/ bearish channel?
Only a powerful crystal ball can predict the answer.

  3. Right. Apparently his mama never advised him, "don't buy stocks in a down trend".

Buy a leap call, sell near term calls against it if it keeps falling; one day, your sold call will be in the money, convert it to an iron condor, just play it, do not own it.

I've done well with BABA last year but moved on when it started it slow descent, which it hasn't recovered from. Its 1 step forward, 2 steps back stock price is tedious and, with the Chinese government showing how it controls all, I wouldn't want my investment to depend on their whims. There are many other companies with brighter and safer long term prospects that are undervalued today due to covid for example.

i've held it for a while but politics has made it dead . I'm not so sure our relationship w/China is gonna get any better, plus now big red .gov is ball deeps in it.
