regards to everyone. for some time now i have had some strategies that generate very nice returns trading automated. i asked the people who run these fora where should i create this thread and i received a recommendation to post in this section. i have been trading these strategies on the m2k and mnq contracts on simulator for a number of weeks and on the mnq with real funds since the 11th of june 2020. currently i'm trading one single mnq contract and as soon as my strategies accumulate enough capital i will add more mnq contracts and then start trading the m2k as well. i'm interested in securing access to additional funds to be able to trade the nq and rty contracts proper as well as other diverse contracts like the cl, gc, and other index, fossil fuel and financial futures. i understand that proprietary trading institutions and similar are the ones with the which i could establish a mutually beneficial agreement for a proportion of the profits generated in the future (a formal, legally binding contract signed with an individual investor could work as well). i will provide reasonable documentation of the returns my strategies generate as well as the trades they take with some delay, but i'm not interested in selling or granting access to my intellectual property. the following are some images to illustrate my returns to date, as well as how my strategies look like on historical data. these two images correspond to my returns from 11-06-2020 to 19-06-2020: these two below correspond to the returns of my strategies on one single m2k contract from may 2019 to 19-06-2020 (these backtests assume commissions of 1 usd and slippage of 4 usd per trade. these are the same strategies i'm trading automated and the results after 10-06-2020 were generated on real time, live data): and these correspond to the returns of trading one single mnq contract over the same time period and with the same specifications as above: very well, i will appreciate any valuable advice knowledgeable members could have regarding how could i secure access to additional trading capital. if anyone is interested in this idea, please get an email account with mailfence and send me the address via private message; i won't discuss this matter over non secure media. thanks, regards.
One valuable advice, is to not dictate that anyone HAVE TO get an account with mailfence in order to approach you, .. if anyone wants to give you funds to trade, they contact you however they like. Why would anyone wants to hassle with creating a special email account just in order to discuss anything with a random dude on a forum that wants something from you ??? good luck though.
For some reason, I absolutely do not trust automatic trading. In my opinion, manual work is much more reliable and profitable.
congratulations on reading all the way through. there's a lot of people who don't have that kind of ability. and using secure communications is quite important. the case of lavabit is only one of the most dramatic and extreme, but practically everything on the internet is not secure. i'm sure that when you get to develop strategies that generate returns of 500 - 1000% in 12 months you will also make sure to only discuss your intellectual property over secure media. good day and good luck.
This won’t work. It is very easy to create such strategies in backtests, and I’ve seen many better ones in backtests. But they stop working as soon as you launch them live, and this is already shown in your own charts. Basically you’re not doing anything different than everyone else. You’d need to run any strategy live for a year, so that it is not based mainly on backtests.
Overfit stats/P&L almost always go up pretty smoothly in a straight line, then immediately flatten out, fluctuate around flat line, or start dropping - during live trading. At least I’m assuming his P&L does show live trading during the last couple weeks as he mentioned, and that’s where I see the P&L flattening and dropping. I’ve seen this type of P&L hundreds of times in my own overfit strategies, so I pretty much immediately associate it with overfitting.
If you can generate 20% a year and have a risk profile similar or less than the S&P 500 you will be one of the greatest of all time. You need to learn about trading and risk management before you do anything, based on your above comment. Get 2-3 years of results and tell us where you are at. Your sample size doesn't make sense. Your strategy is vulnerable to several environments. You have to see how it stands up through multiple markets before you have any idea if you have an edge or not.
OP presents a week of real trades and simulations with reasonable (but not great) stats. Insufficient. Also, include 2008-2009, 2011 to show how it performed under stress.
