This is a sure sign that the Carolina Panthers will be moving away from North Carolina...

Attorney: Carolina Panthers could be Kaepernick's next stop

After quarterback Colin Kaepernick settled his lawsuit against the NFL last week, the player has been mum, but his lawyer suggested to CNN that he'll sign soon with an NFL team. Among those mentioned by attorney Mark Geragos: The Carolina Panthers.

"I think you're going to see within the next two weeks that somebody's going to step up," Geragos said.

"Somebody's going to do the right thing, and you want me to predict who? I would tell you besides the Panthers, it would not surprise me if Bob Kraft (owner of the New England Patriots) makes a move."

The new owner has screwed up local support for the team badly. The Carolinas have a large number of military families, broad patriotic support, over 80% people locally view kneeling as disrespectful, and the Panthers are the team that traditionally had the most military involvement at their games.

Would be a great move by the Panthers considering Cam just had surgery and the Panthers offense is one already set up for duel threat QBs like Cam and Kap.

I'll add congrats to Kap on his 100 million dollar lawsuit victory.I am very happy for him.

I have been taking your word for it but I am starting to doubt that.Im sure the southern white conservitive racists wants them gone but they seem to have support from others. The Panthers were 7th in attendance this year,no small feat and this is after Tepper took over and signed a kneeler

My money is on the Patriots. Belichick specializes in this sort of thing. Besides nobody actually likes the Patriots anyway, what do they have to lose?

Dont see that happening.Kapernick is in no way a fit for the Patriots offense imo and I doubt any team will redo thier entire offensive system for Kapernick.Kapernicks style is similar to Cam Newtons so the Panthers offense is already fit for him.

You are correct that the Panthers style of offense built around Cam is a better fit for Kapernick. With Cam being hurt and more & more questionable for upcoming seasons.... the Panthers need to do something to find a viable back-up.

The question is if any team wants to pick up this baggage for what is basically a junior under-performing quarterback (who could improve however).

  10. The media acts like Kap is a difference making QB.
    He’s garbage.
And please stop before anyone says “he took SF to a Super Bowl”.
San Fran was absolutely loaded on defense and had a solid running game.
Kap and the run pass option was a new wrinkle to the league and defenses were clueless how to stop it.
After Coordinators had game film in the offseason, Kap was exposed as a gimmick. He can’t throw accurately and can’t read defenses for shit.
Just have to keep him in the pocket and wait for the incomplete pass or INT*

*this is EXACTLY what is going to happen to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in 2019.
