Multiple children were killed and many others were injured after a shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama, Saturday evening.

Dadeville Police, the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, among others, responded to a building near the intersection of East Green Street and North Broadnax Street at around 10:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting, Fox News and WRBL reported.

Although law enforcement agents have not officially released the number of people killed or injured in the incident, photos taken by witnesses at the scene showed “the bodies of at least six teenagers on the ground,” according to Fox News. The witness observed white sheets covering their bodies.

The shooting also injured others with officers and deputies at the scene reporting at least 20 people wounded, majority of them teenagers, WRBL stated. The injured victims were transported to a local hospital for further care.

During a preliminary investigation, the detectives suspected that an altercation led to the shooting at a teenager’s birthday party, WRBL said. Witnesses reported that the celebration was a Sweet-16 birthday party.

Officials have not released any information regarding a suspect.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Dadeville Police or the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office.

This is a developing story and we will update it as more information is released.

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — Two people were killed and four others injured after another shooting in Louisville, Kentucky, Saturday night.

The Louisville Metro Police Department were dispatched to Chickasaw Park at around 9 p.m. on reports of a shooting, WLKY reported.

When officers arrived, they discovered two people dead at the scene and four other victims injured with gunshot wounds, a spokesperson for the city’s police department stated.

The four victims were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. One of the four victims was in critical condition, the spokesperson informed.

After a preliminary investigation, officers found that there were hundreds of people in the park, but no witnesses to the shooting, Louisville Metro Police Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey said.

There were no known suspects at the time of reporting.

The Louisville Metro Police Department led the investigation into the incident.

This shooting came just five days after the mass shooting at the Old National Bank in the same city, about six miles away.

The previous mass shooting killed five people, all between 40 and 64 years old, and injured eight others.

Connor James Sturgeon, 25, a former employee of the bank, was later identified as the shooter. He was killed by responding officers during the incident.

“It wasn’t just Monday’s shooting. Wasn’t just todays shooting. There were several other shootings in between. We lost more lives in between Monday’s mass shooting and tonight’s,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said. “Please, put your weapons down. There are so many ways to resolve disputes, to talk to one another. Gun violence is not the solution to anything. Please put your weapons down.”

Anyone with information about the most recent shooting is asked to call the anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or utilize the online Crime Tip portal at LMPD Crime Tip Portal.

    That's a small-town rural community.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of the senseless tragedy last night,”.

While they're praying after they put out the above statement, politicians will be working hard in the background to lower the age requirements for gun ownership and make other gun laws (if any exist)...less restrictive so that it's easier for anyone to own a gun.
    • Alabama has no red flag gun laws.
So far in 2023, the United States has had more mass shootings than the number of days in 2023...that's more than one per day.

Below chart is for when the Pandemic had begun...I lost the other charts to compare to gun violence for 2021, 2022 and 2023. I can only say that there's a scary difference in comparing the United States to other countries.

There is a simply solution for this disparity. The U.K., Canada, and Australia need more guns.

I remember the early days of MADD, all the gruesome pics of accidents and fatalities they published, to bring the gravity of the problem to the general public. Perhaps it's time for something similar in the US. Hmm... mothers against mass murder MAMM? Start showing ads with bullet wounds, blood pools, and missing heads?

In an era of life-like video games -- this type of commercial would not be effective anymore.

In fact, it would probably make some young nutcases want to go out and inflict gun violence because the results looked so "cool" in the commercial

    Just my opinion.

Similarly, I remember as a teenager in my driver's education class...they showed only videos or real automobile accidents with dead people in the vehicles...

Dead people after an automobile ran a red light, dead people after they did not follow speed limit signs and then were involved in car accidents, pedestrians hit in crosswalks by distracted drivers, drinking and driving, not wearing a seat belt, drag racing et cetera...lots of dead people before they were removed and covered up.

We learned that driving is a privilege...not a constitutional right.
    • In order to obtain the privilege, you must apply for a license and abide by the rules of the road.
Assault weapons should not be allowed as part of the 2nd amendment especially considering assault weapons account for about 85% of the deaths in mass shootings.

The government can fix that but will not until there's more mass shootings in rural communities and/or children of Republicans become victims of mass shootings.

This is common in the black community; violent shoot outs at birthday parties, barbaque, weddings ect… And of course all day long on street corners.
