  2. 20% chance of getting in if Asian and 95% chance of getting in if African-American.

    WTF is up with that.

  3. Asians are considered to be white supremacists now because they cheat by studying hard, using discipline, valuing deferred gratification and working together as a family to develop honor and skills. These are considered to be white colonial legacy skills and values.

Nevermind that the asian cultures have them as well in many instances. We don't want to complicate things for the lefties.

  4. Yes, working hard and studying hard is now considered white supremacist.

Lefties are doing their best to screw up everything they possibly can. :banghead:

  5. This issue is not as cut and dried as it seems....

First off the Ivy Leauges have made a case that they are not going to simply take students who do well on a standardized tests and high GPA alone. There are plenty of applicants with high GPAs and test scores but what other sports, volunteer, leadership, activities are they involved in as some students simply spend all their time doing school work and nothing else to achieve those scores.

Colleges really want well rounded students who have different experiences and backgrounds yet have demonstrated an ability to thrive in a high academic environment. This kid is competing against thousands of high SAt and GPA applicants.

A high GPA or a high SAT does not guarantee you entry into anywhere. I am sure there are a large number of Asians who were accepted into Harvard so why is this kid's case that unique.

If SAt is all that matters, MIT and Harvard would simply have an automated system where all >1550s automatically get an acceptance letter. It is hard to say if he was disciminated because how can he prove someone undeserving got in over him simply because he got a better SAT score.

We all know smart kids that can study for the test and ace it after taking it several times. Many colleges are going to test optional because the validity or utility of an SAT or ACT has become less and less important as an indicator of future success. Any college wants to read the essays, look at the the courseload, see what extracurricular activities you are involved in, and see what more there is to you than a standardized test you can study for.

EXAMPLE: harvard has an acceptance rate of 4.6%. How many qualified applicants were rejected??

22% of the first year class this past year is Asian. 8% of the U.S. population is Asian. Is that discrimination?
Is this one kid entitled to a spot and what about the other hundreds of Asians that were accepted. Was he so different and unique and stood out?

Getting rejected by 5 or 6 top schools is certainly puzzling but we will never get to see his application because all he is touting is his 1580 SAT and GPA. If that is all he offered then in this environment we can see why he had difficulty.

  6. You make the case that all sorts of things should be considered in determining who is accepted.

The Asian guy makes the case that it is his race that determined it for him.

If he presented the same application with the same test scores and indicated that he was black, he would have been good to go at at least a couple of the elite schools.

Therefore, his race is the determining factor.

The fact that colleges tell fluffy stories about how they look at lots of factors and put together the environment they want does not make it right or constitutional. Suppose I run an apartment complex and a black guy applies to live there, and I take the position that I pretty much have enough blacks already, how does that work out for the lefties?

I have said it before, being Asian that majority of Asians are the very reason they are being discriminated against. One, is they are too docile and accept discrimination against Asians as being A-Okay. Only lately, has a handful of Asians filed lawsuits against Harvard and other elite colleges and universities which extreme liberal judges just threw out. The problem is most Asians live in the Democrat plantation. They willingly, vote for Democrats like sheep thinking the Democrats will take care of them, will not discriminate against them. Also, believe the lies that Republicans are racist when it was Democrats who created the KKK and Republicans were they ones fighting for black rights. Most Asians vote for fellow Asians running as Democrats and promote the status quo of discriminating against Asians. These Democrat Asians have betrayed other Asians which is why I will never vote for an Asian candidate for political office. Almost, all of them are no good.

  9. You are missing the point. It does not matter if someone with better or worse numbers get in.... the numbers are not the determining factor so he cannot prove he should have gotten in because he has no right to entrance simply because his SAT was 1580. If all the coleges say the entire application matters then his argument that a 1580 means he demands to be accepted is not valid.

Constitution does not say you must get into Harvard, just says Harvard and colleges cannot discriminate against an entire group and prevent them from attending.

Harvard or MIT is not mandated to accept only students with high SATs so how can he claim that he was rejected when other qualified applicants were also rejected. How can he claim Harvard is discriminating against Asians when Asians are represented at a rate 4x higher than their population representation?

Just because FOX news told you he was rejected and he claimed it was because he was Asian is not a fact, it is media intepretation. The valedictorian at my son's HS is Chinese and got a high SAT score and really high GPA taking AP and Honors classes and......got accepted into Harvard! She also started a cancer non-profit that opened up chapters in various high schools and was active in school leadership positions and numerous volunteer organziations. It is not just about the numbers.

  10. No. You are missing the point.

If the colleges allege that a wide range of factors is/are the determining factor but if an applicant of a different race - e.g. black- with the same factors would be accepted but one of a different race- e.g. Asian- is not then the decision is arrived at based on a person's race.

This is contrary to the U.S. Constitution.

Not going to try the case here. But I am missing exactly Zero of the relevant points.
