Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot at approximately 2:45 p.m. on January 6, 2021, as she attempted to climb through a broken window into the Speaker's Lobby during the Capitol riot. Former President Donald Trump issued his first public communication to the rioters at 4:17 p.m., releasing a video message on social media. In the video, he repeated claims of electoral fraud and told the rioters: "We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You're very special." This message came approximately 1 hour and 32 minutes after Babbitt was shot.
Only a dumbass would try to breach a guarded door with armed law enforcement on the other side of that guarded barrier that was protecting congressional members (Republicans and Democrats) seeking shelter in that chamber from rioters who were chanting outside "Hang Mike Pence" and then searching each chamber to look for congressional members. Some of those congressional members were on their knees and praying or crying to god while others were calling their family members to say "goodbye". It was a insurrection of our capital, the U.S. constitution, and Democracy. That's what the law enforcement saw, heard, and felt while they were doing their duty to serve and protect on January 6th, 2021. We all saw it too...live on TV as in unfolded for the world to see. She also forgot what happens when law enforcement on the other side of that barrier were yelling to "stand down" but she decided to proceed and try to breach that barricaded door. What's next? The people that were thrown in jail and later pardon gets a settlement too after they took out the eye of a capital police officer. Thus, do not be shocked if other rioters who injured police officers and then arrested get settlements too. Babbitt's settlement to her family is just Trump's government of trying to whitewash the truth of trying to overturn the vote of the people but the entire world saw what other insurrectionist and her did on January 6th, 2021.
