Arsonist arrested for trying to start another "climate change" fire in Oregon

  1. There are a lot of climate change fires happening in the urban areas of Oregon too- especially places like Target, Best Buy, and the liquor stores.

Authorities in southern Oregon charged a 44-year-old man, Jason Maas, with first-degree arson after he allegedly started a fire in the woods near the frisbee golf course at Dexter State Recreation Area on Wednesday.

A person that intentionally starts a fire as in an arsonist has nothing to do with climate change. He's just an arsonist. :D

In contrast, a forest that's extremely dry beyond normal levels from climate change and then there's a natural set to fire (e.g. lighting strike) is a forest fire as the result to climate change.

Washington, Oregon, California have many big fires every year due to arsonists, careless peope or climate change.

Yet, this Pandemic has put more people outdoors...more boating accidents, more drownings, more accidental hunting shootings, more accidental forest fires but fires related to climate change has been happening for hundreds of years.

To me its natural and I would never build a home in those types of areas where someone's mistake or natural ignition (e.g. lightning) miles of way could endanger my life or property.

Half-dozen arsonist arrests being suppressed by the media, the FBI and the Oregon governor's office.

When you have your own state government covering for arson it becomes hard to care. The people elected a Governor who will not protect their lives or property. I'm OK with that. Let them sort it out on their own.

    Elections have consequences.

Its not easy being a global warming fanatic, al gore got snowed out. Then, even Time magazine, had a little half hidden article, SEPT 23, 2013=''60 % increase in ice covered ocean ,leading some scientists to believe in global cooling''
    Then instead of doing responsible forestry like most private sectors do;
hey lets worship the forest instead of God. [Sarcasm/ do not try this @ home]
Exactly + when you see an exodus because of excess taxes; double down with a new exit tax like CA??

Why is Washington, Oregon and California so dry this year ?

Serious question because aren't weather temperatures in the norm for these states or unusually Hot ?

    Found Answer
What makes the 2020 wildfires in the West stand out among recent years with epic blazes

With so many fires burning across a wide region, it’s important to remember that there is a lot of variability in the specific factors at play for a given fire, from the ignition source to what kind of landscape is burning to the local conditions spreading the flames. However, there are some common factors that tie many of these blazes together and make them exceptional.

The weather and the warming climate: Record heat this summer baked much of the western United States, with states like California experiencing their hottest August on record. Many cities and counties across the West experienced record or near-record heat throughout the summer and into September. The summer was capped with a punishing heat wave that settled across the region in August and September and drove temperatures well into triple digits.

It has also been extremely dry in California, Oregon, and Washington this summer, with large sections of each state under “severe drought” conditions and some areas reaching “extreme drought.”

That heat and dryness turned grasses, shrubs, and trees into easy tinder, ready to ignite at the slightest spark.

  8. Different cases can be made and are made based on isolated pieces of information.

There is drought in western parts of the U.S. but overall 2019 was the second wettest year on record in the U.S. Did climate change go away for a year and then come back fr 2020 or what?

In reality atmospheric currents shift around. Moving the wet and dry areas and hot and cold areas from year to year. If one wants to make the case by looking at overall ocean temps or atmospheric temps then some cases one way or the other can be made better that way. But region by region changes is dicey.

Remember we had the ungodly drought in California for years showing the same picture of the dam and the empty basin behind it at Oroville, year after year? Then suddenly one year there was total, total panic about flooding over the top of the dam and the dam bursting. Yeh. Climate change took a year off I guess.

Before everyone jumps in with their obligatory kneejerk response, note that I did not deny that the climate is changing and temperatures are getting hotter, I just said that some occurrences do not necessarily confirm or deny that. Radioisotope ice core temperatures from thousands of years ago show some pretty scary stuff in both directions as well.

I know nothing about the average weather in California, Oregon and Washington but I do know Climate Change can change suddenly 1 - 2 year elapse and then resume its path although I don't know if that's what happen in those three states...it resume this year 2020.

Yet, if the weather experts say most of the Fires are due to Climate Change and accidental (e.g. explosives from baby reveal party)...I gotta go with what they say.

And in some cases, the weather has provided that spark. The vast majority of wildfires in the United States are ignited by human sources — power lines, cigarette butts, machinery, or, in the case of one infamous recent fire, a gender reveal stunt. But a strange dry lightning storm near the San Francisco Bay Area in August led to more than 11,000 lightning strikes and triggered more than 300 fires in its wake. The causes of many other fires across the region are still being investigated.

The record-breaking weather comports with what scientists expect as the climate changes, and in many of the burning areas, the climate has already shifted in ways to worsen fire risk.

    Thanks anyway.
