What are you finding works best for you in this market -- day vs swingtrading, or some of both?

Personally I'm doing more daytrading, since gaps overnight are haphazard.

For daytrading today I had a few winners trading upside reversals in TZA UVXY SDOW.

Any daytrading tips to share, in whatever you are seeing works best?

Here's one: frequently I see midday major reversals, 11-12 like today, which is why I bought inverses at that time ‐- look at today's UVXY chart. Much better to daytrade vs swing.

Day Trading Index, trying to be less accurate and less scalpy, can't handle the speed / pressure of that madness LOL

Hate Gaps, hate Pre Market back in my old stock days, no control, just pure gamble holding over night when the markets like this.

Run into the close last 15-20mins and holding +5mins after close, jump on and hold!!

Hi Ken. I'm starting to look into the market internals, and am finding these useful.

Just wondering if you think there are any others I might want to look into.

(re the topic - struggling with position trading lately)

    Thanks.

Market too News pulled around for Position trading, why he's gone more intraday :(

Take a break till it calms down, summer doldrums generally suck anyway, but maybe not this year.

Sure, I use TRIN & VIX daily, main benefit is strength of directional volatility, plus I limit trading when TRIN is near 1

me day and night trading, zero swing trading.

    I trade
    early asian,
early Eur (include mid / end Asian session)
early US session (include end Eur session)
occassionally I trade mid Eur session too.

this way, I see less of gap headache

this way I can catch most of major movement across the whole world.

Hope all is well. I don't agree that gaps are haphazard. The market telegraphs its moves -- we just have to be able to read the signs.

  8. So you’re saying the market tells you before a massive news bomb hits the tape?

I didn’t see anyone worried about covid right up until the market dropped 35% in three weeks.

The irony of that is severe.

  10. Yes -- if we can read the signs. Sometimes we choose to ignore them or interpret them through a distorted lens but they are there. I'm not saying I'm always perfect at reading them but they are there.
