Are these halts really necessary?

BNGO has been halted a dozen times today. The halts aren't protecting anyone. They are just producing more risk by having someone stuck in a halt.

    Maybe protecting the MMs?

If a stock is up and and halted (not pending news related), I buy as soon as it starts trading again. There is a significant edge there.

Sometimes after the last halt, there's a HUGE GAP down when trading resumes... haha

Sometimes they get halted ( 37 seconds after I got in literally, after 2 days of no too risky ) and then delist and open back up with a 99% loss on the pink sheets LOL

That happened to me just a while back. The stock was all over the place and it was halted 2 minutes after I shorted it. I got lucky, though. I was down 2000.00 when it opened the next day, I was stubborn and held on and ended up losing 700.00 by the end of the trade. If I had been more stubborn and held on until the end of the day, I would have made money. Lol. Halts suck, but this was a company issued news pending halt. Not a stupid exchange halt.
