i have read about the put call parity. can this be carried out by small people like us or only by the big boys?

I used to trade arbs by hand

Then they came with that machine and are willing to take the 1 cent arbs all day and all night

There are mispriced securities out there every day. You can effectively do arbitrage. The reason the little guy can do this is because you are not trading in size. There are opportunities that large quant funds can't effectively take advantage of with the amount of money they must invest just to cover their costs.

The bottom line is that trading can be a full time job if you want it. But few are willing to do the hard work and stick to it long enough.

 

can you give me an example of something that you would consider a good arbitrage? it can be current or something in the past. just trying to get a clearer picture
