I spent several weeks living in a half buried shipping contained in the Namibian desert that I found, had to remove the sand inside but it was quite comfy. I had a pickup with a generator, hammock and spent my days constructing a new design of an anti-material rifle, nice out of the way place to fire hundreds of rounds. The sea was a kilometer walk across the desert for swimming and to bring back water for the solar still. So I came back to town feeling pretty rugged and some local guy said he would not spend a night out there as its crawling with six-eyed sand spiders... Yep, good choice of name.
Thank God I live in a temperate climate and winter kills the nastiest creatures. And for summer, I only go as far as Crete / Cyprus. Somehow neither crocodiles nor sharks make it that far it seems: https://news.sky.com/story/cretes-crocodile-found-dead-after-cold-snap-10365655 While both crocodiles and sharks lurk once you reach Africa: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c793rygrpjqo
