SCOTUS Sets Conference Date for the Snope v. Brown Assault Weapon Ban Case

The United States Supreme Court has set an official conference date of December 13 to decide if the High Court will hear Snope v. Brown, a case directly challenging Maryland’s assault weapon ban, addressing whether states can legally ban semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15, commonly owned and used by law-abiding citizens. While some say this case has the potential to redefine the future of firearm legislation across the nation, the fact that arguments are so deeply rooted in precedent set by earlier landmark Second Amendment decisions such as District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen (2022) makes one wonder, haven’t we been here before?

J.F.C. Look at the author. I mean really, are these guys made from a template? He looks like Wildchild's brother.

20th century Armenian genocide refugee type, obsessed with guns because his people bla bla bla.

Other states and counties have bans on AR-15 although I believe each of those states or counties have a different argument for their bans.

I used to have mixed feelings about gun ownership in the United States considering I was raised in a household (military family) in Kentucky with lots of different weapons including military-style weapons.

Living on base...we had to follow military law. In contrast, living off base, my old man had more freedom but he built an in house armory that rival the local police department

Later, I served in the U.S. military but didn't give gun ownership a 2nd thought until I began to travel and live in other countries. That's when I noticed many countries have less gun violence than the United States.

Just as importantly, countries that value gun ownership have less gun violence than the United States but those countries don't have a protective constitution...the right to bear arms.

We have had a problem with gun ownership & safety by law-bidding citizens and criminals since gun violence in our country exploded in the early 1900s. We have more guns than our citizens than any other country and it's a billion-dollar business with some of the best lobbyists in Washington D.C...the latter is a big part of the problem.

We are 25x more likely to be shot by a law-bidding gun owner when there's "no crime" in comparison to other countries with a diverse population. That's a scary statistic.

The main difference between growing up in the United States versus living abroad in other countries...we have too many civilians who believe they can resolve their differences or arguments by using gun violence.

Gun ownership is embedded in our blood because our founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms. Yet, they didn't foresee an explosion of gun violence against our own citizens in the early 1900s.

The good news, the United States will never be invaded by enemy troops...too many gun owners... law-bidding, and criminals. Yeah, if the U.S. is invaded...suddenly the U.S. will be glad that our criminals are better armed than our law enforcement :D

Gun violence in the United States will never be fixed because gun ownership is embedded in our blood since the days of our founding fathers. I can live with that but have chosen to raise my family abroad in a less violent country.

At some point, we need to do what other countries are doing to better protect our residents...every month and every year.

Armed militia? it isn't the guns it's the idea of a united people commanding the gov't.
The FBI wouldn't be infiltrating, if we paid attention to who we were electing.

Guns aren't allowed in Midtown Manhattan are they? Was Luigi Mangione aware of that?

You're not American...everything you spout about at this forum is divisive. Regardless, you also can not read too well.

I often talk about being a gun owner, raised in a family of gun owners, and hunting/shooting in three different countries. Yet, I also talk about mixed feelings about America's high gun violence among criminals and high suicide rate among law bidding gun owners and the lazy gun safety law requirements in the U.S. in comparison to other countries.

It's not a coincidence. The fact is the U.S. near the top in the world in gun violence in comparison to other western countries.

    U.S. is Rank 3rd @ https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/gun-deaths-by-country
The U.S. gun violence is 7x higher than in our northern border country...Canada.

By the way, Canada is a great country to hunt elk, moose, bison, and caribou. Most of my U.S. friends have been visiting Canada more for hunting than hunting in the United States since the border re-opened.

Simply, as usual, you're talking out of your butt again like an emotional child instead of organizing your thoughts before posting online. Other disillusion Americans and Canadians say it works very well. Later, some would thank me. :sneaky:
