Looking for input on their responsiveness when you have an issue trading, as well as reliability. I see they don't show the Tradeovate platform on their website, but Tradeovate has them as one of their clearing firms, so wondering if anyone is using that combination and any opinion on it. I have been with IB for years now, but am noticing data nits that are bothering me, as well as a issues after updates, and I have missed my tick charts ever since I switched to IB. Thanks for any input.
I used Dorman in the past and I have to say that they are one of the few clearing firms I can recommend. I would say they're perfect for the semi - professional hand - clicker/spreader who trades Chicago futures. Family business with a heritage and always available via phone to help you out.
Very good firm that actually clears professional firms and that knows how to correctly margin a spread trade.
Thanks Bone, I'm still thinking about making spread trading my retirement project for when I'm done with this day trading.
They're so cheap to margin and hold overnight that it makes more sense to swing trade them TBH. And I've day traded them, high speed traded them, pit traded them, etc. etc..
One of the two major problems with discount futures brokers is that they have no clue how to correctly margin a spread. Their Risk Management just isn't set up for it. They will typically margin each leg as outright risk - which is crazy.
That's like saying you like Delta Airlines for their drinks and food. Charting has nothing to do with the broker
