I trade them in the financial markets but interactive brokers also supposedly has micro oil and other markets. The problem is, I am unable to get a quote for them in tws. I like big and relatively slow moving markets https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=47137#micro-wti-crude-content
For MCL, you should be able to get a TWS quote as @maxinger shows, but: Big ? : possibly; Relatively slow moving ? : I'd be looking elsewhere. KH
Can trade mini VIX on CFE as well as 1/10th size contracts on the OSE (Osaka Derivatives Exchange). You have to convert funds into yen for margin though. https://www.jpx.co.jp/english/derivatives/products/domestic/225mini/01.html
I think the MICROS and some of the other smaller contracts 9small exchange, FairX) are great for a few reasons IMO: Moving from SIM to live trading, when volatility is extreme, swing trading, smaller accounts, scaling in/out and hedging. We wrote a few educational articles on the topic: https://www.cannontrading.com/tools/support-resistance-levels/micro-mini-futures-contract/ https://www.e-futures.com/micro-e-futures.php
Imagine new traders trading the ES-Mini at 8:30a today having no idea WTF just happened to their account? Swim with the minnows before you decide to swim with the sharks.
too bad they are expensive to trade you're better off trading etf's, cheaper and more granular with risk. but yeah i get it, most of you dont have 25k.
Expensive to trade? $1 or so per contract is expensive? The equivalent of a tick or two. Oh I see they're not "commission-free" wink, wink.
