Dear- As a newbie in NYSE, I wonder if we can make a ring 1) of "MSFT bought 100 at 30.00" as soon as 100 MFST is executed at $30.00 2) some broker provide in his TWS? If not, we can make sound files ourselves, with MSFT.wav, for sound of "MSFT". Of course, if personal watchlist has 300 stocks symbols, then we can make 300 sound files. -Jay
Simple online text/voice to .wav tool http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php Create .wav and modify your sound manager with default settings for your basic events: [Do not believe it is possible for individual instruments] [Order filled, partial fill, closing order filled, closing order partially filled, order cancelled] Beyond that you are just playing. Notification of order filled and quick glance of trade log and/or desktop notifications should be sufficient for most traders. [in which case default ding, bells become less annoying than extended text] With IB you can also configure e-mail notification as well, handy when mobile - almost instant notification viewed in inbox without TWS or App running. As Handle pointed out, gets annoying quick. Then again, a lot of newbies go through this phase.
Oldies gets bored of trading, LOL, I don't remember when it was, but at certain point, trading gets very boring waiting for same patterns to occur. You just run out of ways to "play" while waiting for setups. Exercise equipment is ok, games, coding (but concentrating on this often I miss signals), so I want to pass time while it can't be heavy concentration. Had at one time knew a dozen tricks with a yo-yo, LOL. "What do you do for a living Sir"? "I play with my Yo-Yo. ROFLMAO Hope all had safe start of New Year.
Free wav files. http://www.wavsource.com/ One of my favorites " Bogart: "I need dough and plenty of it." (The Treasure of the Sierra Madre)"
decade ago i've done that in ancient VB6 using ancient MS voice control. it will tell you whatever the f** you want. in any voice you like. male, female, a f** robot voice (if that makes your happy). as long as you have data in your own application-you can do whatever you want. via IB's TWS + their API for example. it's not that hard. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10121
