I know there are some ES and MES Day-Traders on ET but was wondering if there are any Tesla Day-Traders. Recently it has had huge moves within a day both directions. With zero commissions and only the SEC fee it looks like it has possibilities and volume is totally insane. Of course you have to be a PDT and maintain the 25K to do it but am thinking about it. So I was just wondering if anyone is successfully doing it. Talk about trading small you can trade just 5 shares for 2 cents in trading cost. (SEC fee at .000008 x sales volume). Even with MES at a 1/10th size contract, losing days can get expensive but with Tesla you can dial in your risk to as small as you want. Then build size up from there if you are successful. Awhile back I tried this on Apple but Tesla volatility puts Apple to shame.
There are TSLA option traders but trading the underlying you'll need a very large capital to see any notable gains. Which is why most daytraders are either future or option traders.
You can trade 400 shares with a minimum PDT account so it seems to me that meaningful gains can be made
On Friday, June 8th, TSLS was 15x on Price over TSLL and 66x on Volume so for daytrading it would be TSLA for me. Thanks for the info though as I had not heard of TSLL
A friend is trading large cap gap up daily, just happen that tsla is on the uptrend in the last 11 days.
I realize the recent activity is unique but even in the big up days there were downside trading opportunities so it is not just riding a strong up move but trading both ways.
for less than few buck a day is not worth the trouble with majors. Sqqq labd, soxs are good candidates.
Like yesterday, for instance. Long on dbl btm OBV diverging with price LL but equalL on indicator, then 61.8% ret of OBV into afternoon swing high to go short. But nah I'll stick with index futures. More bank for the buck overall, less to look at.
I’ve scalped and day traded tsla the past two weeks. 100-500 shares per trade. Had some fun making a few bucks.
