Just wondering, because I know there must be a handful who did.

  2. I always find it too risky to get involved into CHF trading, since the SNB always said that they support the euro only on a temporary basis. So I didn't win and did not lose anything

Hmm... Yea, I'm sure there had to have been a few who just happened to be short at the time. I was long the USD/CHF when SNB started capping it at 1.20...but with a demo account. I admit I had no idea what I was doing at the time and it was just pure blind luck.

yes, but I was flat eur.chf or all chf for that matter, and started selling after it was already down 17%. I was using 100 pip trailing sell stops to enter

Well there must be some futures traders somewhere in the world who made a killing that day in the CME CHF Contract, market went from about 0.98 to peak around 1.23, at $12.5 a tick that’s $31250 per contract, dont know if a limit up trading halt was triggered, but all the same, someone made some money and someone got fried.

Futures are a Zero sum game so for every open position there is a long and a short.

Don’t know what the slippage was like that day in the futures but imagine it wasn’t good, so an equal number of positions would have been smashed; the CME contract is active as well with 30000-50000 open interest most days, doubt anything untoward went on but hope the authorities at least cast an eye over activity leading up to that SNB announcement.

there was no "leading up to that SNB announcement" they just announced

  7. lol it was not an unplanned meeting. You can't be serious. It was on the books weeks/months in advance to have an SNB announcement. the contents of the meeting were, of course, unexpected by many.

that's cool, I don't know how to spell her name, but she is the head of IMF, and she was on cnbc the next morning saying they didn't even tell her before they announced
