Think this Menendez guy should be tried for treason?

For real. He is Chair of one of the most powerful Senate Committees... and this mother f'r is taking cash and gold bars?!!!!

I realize we are in the 21st century, but I gotta think the Founders would would be escorting this cat to a tree with a rope.

By all means... correct me if I'm wrong here.

I mean.... one can see a corrupt mayor or someone taking a little bribe... albeit that's wrong af too.... but a US Senator..... !!!!!!?????? .... as high as he was on the totem pole..... my god..... make an example.

Innocent until proven guilty......... but if proven guilty.... I mean lets draw a f'ing line going forward and lets make an example. A 21st century burning at the stake if what he did is true.

These are the folks that are being paid to run our friggin' country. There is no excuse.

Was he selling U.S. secrets in exchange for the cash & gold bars? (this would be treason).

My understanding was he was just giving some foreigners business advantages in exchange.

I'm not smart enough, or should I say "informed enough" to get down in the weeds to debate this with you..... but a f'n bribe is a f'n bribe. And he's pretty damn high up.

I WILL get down in the weeds with you on this however..... IT'S CALLED F'ing INTEGRITY.

I don't care if it was a deal with UnderArmor giving his nasty hoe wife 1 sports bra for her jugs-o-plenty..... HE'S A US SENATOR.

    ~CASE CLOSED.

These maroons are so funny. Their little minds can't hold even four years of Trump.

Maine senator Susan Collins, who emerged as a key figure during the impeachment trial owing to her perceived willingness to break with her party,[426] defended the acquittal as she believed Trump had learned from the trial and would not attempt to solicit foreign interference in future.

Hence that is why he was indicted on the appropriate charges.

  8. The wife is a wildebeest for sure.

In regard to treason, the way it is defined under U.S. law and the Constitution, it is sort of pisser to prove because the statutory language - as I recall- focuses on providing aid to an enemy of the United States who is at war with or trying to overthrow the country. On the other hand, he clearly has violated- if allegations are proven- two or more parts of the Espionage Act in addition to the basic bribery felonies. As Chair of the Foreign Intelligence Committee the fucker would have the highest security clearance. And probably still has it. As I said yesterday, the guy is a flight risk. He would have lots of crypto and gold stashed away in the Caribbean and would be there in 24 hours and in Cuba a few hours after that. Does he still have his passport?

As I said yesterday, no one can make a good argument- other than for political hack reasons- as to why the feds have not made a custodial arrest of him and busted down his door to get him as they did with Mannafort and Roger Stone. Two justice systems though as we know.

The other thing that is an eyebrow raiser, is that the feds have known about the gold bars and related activities for over a year and are just getting around to indicting him. Sometimes the feds will do that because they are still monitoring the other bad actors and do not want to go public with it. Other times, they do nothing for a year or more because they are not interested in going after someone they think is a special dem unless they have to. They will eventually have to explain that. Especially if he gave away any intel or the like during the year after the feds knew that he doing dirty deeds.

Yeah, I didn't really look (when I post this thread), aside from the the top 10 main page (politics) ongoing threads... and the usual back and forwards. And yes, I was pretty sure that had I dug, there was no way this one had not come up. But that said, when one feels strongly about something... pardon one for stepping on the toes of the "ET Politics" ---->entrenched in "this is our format on posting and how dare you violate it" establishment... the inner voice knows when to draw the line and lay down a gauntlet of what's right, and what's wrong.

    Bitter pill Cuddles?
    Reality oftentimes works that way.
