Anybody here collect coins as an investment?

  1. Anyone? Any coins worth purchasing/collecting as an investment? I would love to start a coin collection if it has a positive long term net present value that is worth a damn, but if its just essentially wasting money, no way.

    Thanks!

    YES/ but have to invest so much time, have to want to really, really do that. Insure them maybe.
    I like some still;
    metals are stronger than paper. Huge bid\ ask, but that'$ fair enough for low volume stuff.
    But skip stuff like the weird Susan B metal dollar that was quarter size \confusing.
    But Annie Moses Oakley e metal shotgun went for big bucks; so fundamentals matter much.
    Stock market+ REALTY does better usually:caution::caution:

  3. I was more thinking like ancient coins Murray. Like how cool would it be to own and hold a coin that was minted by the great Julius Ceaser or some crazy shit like that? Wouldn't those types of coins tend to go up in price over time?
