I'm north of htown and it's truly insane. Pushing close to 20 inches of rain in 2 days. Have family closer to the city and it is pure chaos with the relentless rain.

  7. Yikes. Glad I'm not there.

We had about 11 inches of rain in 2-3 days this year. Hard to imagine two or three feet of rain in a few days.

As of yesterday evening, water was still rising on the south side into buildings that have never previously flooded. They are being forced to release water from 2 reservoirs that will basically flood more houses in order to prevent failure of the 70 year old dams which would send a wall of water and cause many more fatalities versus a controlled release. Residents in the affected areas are being advised it may take weeks to a month or more before the water will recede in these overflow areas.
