Is there any commission free mutual funds on IB? Other brokers often have certain fund families that are commission free. I am wondering if IB offers similar fund families.
There are LOTS of "commission free" mutual funds... though brokers often charge a commission to trade them. As for all mutual funds, their biggest drawback is "end of day fills". Better for you if you can find a way to trade ETFs... which have "real-time" fills.
They don't have many, certainly compared of most retail brokers, but last I checked, all the ones they offered were no load funds because their system didn't support charging you the loads. I think you had to pay a $15 commission each way to IB.
Do you mean the ones listed under "commission free" are no load, or all funds traded on IB are no load? For example, NHMAX has 4% load shown on Morningstar. If I buy it on IB, do I need to pay the 4%? Thanks.
you can trade Rydex funds there commission free. Just don't expect to be able to frequent trade the Rydex funds because they don't offer a mutual fund switching feature (not that I know of). if you sell you need to wait one day for cash to settle before buying something else.
