  1. Have a nice day, Dumphuk. Welcome to OttoWambier- ville. Enjoy your stay.

And I/we have absolutely ZERO need to hear from you again nor any need to trade anything for you.

Stay there, shut the fuck up. And if they treat you like a king or torture you 24/7 is fine either way. Just don't bother normal people about it. And hopefully you will not say you fled to North Korea because you are some kind of LBTQ pervert fleeing prosecution by the U.S.- because then we will hear about it endlessly.

    Again, have a nice day.

  2. Overnight

    Overnight

Early reports are that he accidentally wandered over the line while touring a village on the SK/NK border and they nabbed him.

  3. Well, he can just "accidentlly" stay there then.

I don't know what his game is but it is toxic. Don't need to see him or hear from him again. Bye, bye Dumphuk.

Early reports are all over the place. Most say he was facing some kind of military prosecution and was being sent back to U.S but had a sudden need to join a tour of the border before he left. Gameplayer and up to no good.

    from PBS

King, who’s in his early 20s, was escorted to the airport to be returned to Fort Bliss, Texas, but instead of getting on the plane he left and joined a tour of the Korean border village of Panmunjom, where he ran across the border, the officials said on the condition of anonymity to discuss the matter ahead of a public announcement.

Travis King: All we know as US soldier enters North Korea amid 'defection' rumours
Travis King is the reported name of a US Army soldier who crossed the border into communist North Korea. He is said to have laughed as he ran away from a civilian tour

A US Army soldier has voluntarily crossed the border into North Korea without authorisation.

The highly unusual move is being investigated as a possible defection - amid claims the soldier was laughing when he ran over the border.

The US and North Korea have poor relations and the communist regime is known as a rogue state at odds with the West for most of its history.

The demilitarised zone (DMZ) was put in place in the aftermath of the Korean War, which ended in 1953. The border is known as one of the most heavily fortified areas in the world.

At a briefing, Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed the crossing was deliberate and that he was concerned at the situation. Mr Austin said: "One of our service members who was on a tour willfully and without authorisation crossed the demarcation line. He is in custody.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and working to notify the soldier's next of kin. I'm absolutely foremost concerned about the welfare of our troop."

In a statement, the United Nations Command said: "A US National on a JSA (joint security area) orientation tour crossed, without authorisation, the Military Demarcation Line into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

"We believe he is currently in DPRK custody and are working with our KPA counterparts to resolve this incident."

An announcement on the incident from the Pentagon confirmed what had happened. Here's everything we know so far..
Travis King - the second class private
Two US officials said the soldier detained was Private 2nd Class Travis King, 23, who had just been released from a South Korean prison where he'd been held on assault charges and was facing additional military disciplinary actions in the United States.

King is reported to be in his early 20s.

The soldier is reported to have been detained for a month and a half and was due to fly home. He is then believed to have left the airport and joined a civilian tour of the Joint Security Area (JSA) between North and South Korea.

A defence official told CNN there was no indication the soldier was planning to defect and he was not escorted to the airport because he was no longer in custody.

His flight, ABC News reported, was bound for Fort Bliss, Texas.

Reports in South Korea say he crossed the border without permission at 3.27pm local time.

The Mirror has approached the Department of Defence for comment.

A spokesman for the US military in South Korea, Colonel Isaac Taylor, said: "We're still doing some research into this, and everything that happened."

Laughing as he crossed the border
At a briefing, Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed the crossing was deliberate and that he was concerned at the situation.

A defence official told CNN there was no indication the soldier was planning to defect.

An official also told CBS News the alleged defector managed to join the border tour after somehow managing to return through airport security.

A witness told the broadcaster that the man in question ran away from the tour laughing as he did so, leading others on the civilian tour group to believe he was joking.

"This man gives out a loud 'ha ha ha,' and just runs in between some buildings," they said.

South Korean news site Daejon Ilbo added North Korea is trying to recruit the as yet unconfirmed individual.

The US has imposed a travel ban on its citizens to North Korea "due to the continuing serious risk of arrest and long-term detention of US nationals."

    A civilian tour
The soldier in question is reported to have joined a tour to the Joint Security Area, the only point of the DMZ where soldiers from North and South Korea stand face to face.

South Korean Travel Planning said tours to the Joint Security Area (JSA) have recently resumed. Bloodshed and gunfire have occasionally occurred there, but it has also been a venue for numerous talks and a popular tourist spot.

I read elsewhere he ran across border with tourist guides giving chase but couldn't catch him.
The guy must have a screw loose.

  7. As discussed, we don't need Dumphuk back.

And I dont want to see various Americans going to North Korea to try to get him released.

Write a check to the North Koreans, and thank them for taking him.

Bye bye Dumphuk. If you are tough guy who likes to assault lots of people, then North Korea is your oyster. Hope that goes well for ya.

US soldier who crossed into North Korea has history of assault and detention

    History of assault
King appears to have a history of violent behavior. South Korean court documents show that he was accused of assault twice last year, and received a fine for one of the incidents.

Last October, he was accused of pushing and repeatedly punching a victim in the face in a club in Mapo-gu, Seoul, after being refused a drink he asked for, according to the Seoul Western District Court documents.

Following the alleged assault, King was taken into police custody and placed in the back seat of a patrol car, when he allegedly used offensive language against Korea, the Korean army and the Korean police while in anger, the court document said.

He then allegedly kicked the door of the patrol car several times, causing 583,959 Korean won (around $461) of damage, according to the court document. King was fined 5 million Korean won (around $4,000) as a result, the document stated.

The court document also referenced an earlier assault case against King from September 2022, which was dropped after the alleged victim expressed his intention not to press charges against King. South Korean police told CNN that King was transferred to US military police after an investigation into an assault last September. It is unclear whether the incident they were referring to was the same case that was dismissed by the court.
