I had a couple options get called away (leaps)...Was wondering where to put the money. I will parks some and invest some (the right timing).

I bought 200 share of GSK at $34.55 I then did a covered call for the Aug 23 $40...I got .60 for it ($120.). It also has a 5.36% dividend...It's UK, so some tax withholding on this one.

They are competing with Moderna and Pfizer for an adult respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine. Huge company...Big into everything.

    A wait and see...

i'd sell puts on the same stock at or below your initial entry price, before you figure out next move.

.... boring trade .... invest some

    What's wrong with this picture?

Like a YouTube ad that I clicked thru earlier as soon as the 5 second prompt came up, best way to invest ... trade just one stock! :banghead:

Give me a break...Cut me some slack. I'm 67 1/2, two heart attacks, double heart bypass, congestive hear failure. I am still doing good for my age and conditions. You want me to walk a mile without stopping, I can do that. Think of investing the 80 year old widow's money...That's what I'm talking about.

I already have a million in Treasures, CDs.

Looking for something basic, that can preserve income and generate more that a CD, at this time. I just post this on the Stock Forum...If anyone is interested. I don't bother with the Option Forum anymore...No one cares about covered calls.

Think of estate planning, more than opening and closing positions...

I'm not that far behind in years, except no heart attacks (I give them , ya notice) or any other health issues - that I know of.

But I do know in my 6+ decades of living that words matter. Investing and trading are similar in the same way that walking and running are. Whichever mode will get you somewhere but there is no mistaking one for the other. That is all.

I like your trade ideas. I have some boring stuff in my portfolio as well. I'd rather have boring and profitable than an exciting loss.

Here's some ideas that you might like:

GDX: Long 100 shares, long the 34 call, short 2x35 calls for February.
INTC: Short the 29-31 Feb / Mar put
KMB: Long 100 shares, short the 135 Mar call or just short the 135 Mar put
TLT: Long 100 shares, long the 107.50 call, short the 109.00 and 109.50 calls all exp next week

I have similar positions in all these trades. I've been putting the TLT trade on weekly, similar, with higher weighting than my usual position. Bullish on TLT, but expecting volatility. These are all similar to a covered call, but I like the risk : reward better. Covered call will do better if the underlying drops.
