Although I've used dozens of brokers over the years, most of past 20 have been with IB. But finally fed-up with IB, especially after requiring authentication to login. Meanwhile: AMP has 50 trading platforms available. I mostly trade futures, via DOM, not from charts. These days mostly trading micro SP; maybe 100 - 200 (1 side) @ day. I do not use technical indicators, just boardwatch & intra & daily charts, mostly via Sierra. Suggestions as to which AMP platform worth trying? Thanks.
I like the Rithmic DOM, so i use the free charting from Motivewave and use the gateway connection to Rithmic, so i have the Motivewave charting and can execute in the Rithmic DOM with 1 connection.
AMP is different to IB, yes AMP is good for Futures especially intraday, but as a primary account not optimal, TT is probably your best bet but be careful if you have custom algos, they moved to server side code hosting and although they say it's encrypted, it's debatable. Metatrader is useful for monitoring if you like to keep it simple, and yes you can do per second charts in both MT4 and MT5 desktop, not mobile, hear you about the IB authentication hence mainly used for stocks and investment positions.
Yes, Rithimic DOM is great. Fastest and most reliable I know. And the nice thing is, your DOM and your datafeed are from the same provider (Rithmic), which eliminates one potential source for interface errors.
Well, I like TV's charts but their DOM doesn't offer much in terms of usability. You can't program quick orders using keyboard shortcuts, other than simple buy or sell orders. For example, there's no way to natively set up stop loss or bracket order, AFAIK. For that, you need to rely on browser extensions, which I ain't so sure if they're safe to use.
