AMP Metatrader 5 server location

Since I've been finding issues with MT5 data lag and inconsistent OHLC during high volume times, i feel like I need to change up the server location maybe due to latency. My VPS is currently based out of NY. I thought that if I can get closer to where the broker's server is, then maybe I will experience less or even no inconsistent data.

I actually checked various 3rd party MT5 vps providers, and all of them showed that for AMP global, the best server location is in London with 1ms

But when I go on MT5 VPS from the platform itself, it says it's Chicago location with around 2ms. So it's actually slower than thier London location.

So I'm a little confused because, if chicago has low latency, then NY location shouldn't even experience that much data lag. So maybe it is London?

I thought maybe someone who uses MT5 vps with AMP can tell me which location would be most suitable. I'm a little hesitant to go with MT5 vps provided by the platform because I've read bad reviews. I mean they are so cheap aroung $15/month. I pay about $40 with a decent provider with no issues. The last thing I need is VPS to go down during busy time screw up my trades.

I currently trade 4 US indeces and 1 from eurex.

    Maybe @AMP_Global can address this

That's probably because AMP Global is in UK and AMP Futures is in Chicago. I'm pretty sure they don't share the same servers.

So if you're trading NQ and ES, you'll wanna stick to Chicago servers, if MT5 offers it, but I don't think they do.

I trade US indeces and 1 from eurex. I always thought that as long as I'm connected to CQG data feed directly, it should be fast and no lag.

So now I'm thinking later on when I trade different exchanges, I should separate mt5 into different vps servers?

But all the vps providers showed London server was fastest. Does it mean nobody trades US indeces with AMP through mt5? Cause Chicago server never comes up. That's what confuses me I guess

Eurex put the quotes and trades out at the same time on all of their servers so you are probably better off having broker and vps in Chicago.

  8. I trade NQ with AMP using the MT5 VPS out of Chicago. I have not experienced any lag or downtime, nor do I need the additional headache of server management thrust upon me.

  9. AMP's VPS for the US is in Chicago like they are. You will never see a faster time from a VPS in London trying to trade on CME vs in Chicago on CME. proximity.

I tried Axiomatic's MT5 and saw longer RTT than AMP's. Axio's MT5 also failed to trigger stop orders I had on the exchange, despite their platform (MT5) saying the orders were accepted and sitting there. They tried to blame my EA, which is impossible, because if an order is sitting on the exchange then it's on the exchange and will be triggered. They weren't - they were traded through.

TL;DR - we're stuck with AMP for MT5 use. It's fine 95% of the time. the other 5%, just have Quantower open and running as a backup. it's my plan going forward.

damn that' unfortunate ironbeam's route didn't improve it. I'm jsut going to go test out Ninja's vps..and if it's good..stick with that.
