I'm considering opening an account at AMP Futures (my first futures account). Trying to understand what data I'd need. I only plan to trade MES/MNQ/ES/NQ.

What is the difference between CME Bundle and CME/Globex market data options?

For Rithmic connection, I guess I pay $25/mo + whichever CME option I choose? So the cheapest would be $28/mo for Rithmic with CME/Globex Level 1 data?

Separately, for those who use Bookmap, is it worth paying to have Level 2 data in the trading platform DOM, if you can already see it in Bookmap?

    You are right, $28.

    CQG would just be $3.

13 bucks is good enough if you only trade es/nq, no need for the bundle.

Cqg is cheaper because it is mbp, rithmic is expensive because it is mbo.

If you're only trading ES/MES & NQ/MNQ, you just need to subscribe to CME. If, on the other hand, you want to trade YM also, you will need CBOT data. Moreover, if you want to follow CL (crude oil) or GC (gold), you need to subscribe to NYMEX and COMEX, respectively. So in the end, I would just spend a little more and get the bundle.

Obviously, Level 1 will only show the top of the book (eg. best bid and offer). What might not be so obvious to you is that trying to save a measly $10 a month could cost you a few thousand dollars in losses. Does that answer your question? :)

I used to trade with level 1 data, now I have level 2 data but for me it makes 0 difference, so I guess it depends on his strategy.

Well, I personally use only Level 1. But his question was in regards to DOM and BOOKMAP, and I don't think Level 1 is all that useful or enough for those applications.

My point is that I can see Level 2 via Bookmap (Rithmic, so I can see pretty much the whole book), so I'm not sure having L2 in the DOM in whatever platform I use with AMP would be of much added value.

l2 aggregated bid and ask can tell you the direction headed, at least for few seconds to 1 minute. Ask more than bid, price goes up, bid more than ask, price goes down. that’s what the dom is for. otherwise you can trade on charts.

mbo is not much use as limit order can be cancelled anytime.
